His gripe is that AO is too much in favor of batsmen for 3 days
With the equilibrium being lopsided in batting he gets bored , at times so do I

personally i don't mind that adelaide is a batathon (not that i necessarily think it is) as long as different pitches have different characteristics. I love that indian pitches are different to australian pitches, and that australian pitches are mostly different to each other.

if all the pitches were like brisbane or the waca that would be just as boring imo

As discussed previously I will watch test match cricket every day of the week over t20 but I don't find watching teams 5/480 or 3/300 very interesting

If a pitch on day 1 has to err to one side me personally would much rather see a pitch with a little bit extra in it for the bowlers and teams bowled out for the 230-280 mark than seeing a batathon but that's just me personally.

Agree, the beauty to test cricket is each pitch has its own characteristics, for mine though Adelaide is so all or nothing it has basically become the 'template test'

Teams will have there first innings over day 1,2,3 and possibly 4, one of these innings will without doubt end from a declaration or a score of over 450

Day 4 will be a bit tougher with the game revolving around whether the team will declare around tea day 4 or morning of day 5

And then bang the test starts it game on

This year was a classic Adelaide template test where the only real excitement is day 5

Anyway today for me was a brilliant day of test cricket

Pitch had abit of bounce in it early and a tad of uneven bounce.

India bowled good lines and batsmen really had to get in before getting to extravegent

Looks like the type of pitch where you are never completely in

Really loved the Haddin/short ball battle as well as watching Watson and Marsh batting for their careers

Game is evenly poised heading into day 2, personally I think 320-340 is par score

That's what teeballs for, I like my test cricket to be a test for all involved

But I'm a bit odd

I a lot of times find the 10 goals to 8 goals in wet conditions SANFL game more exciting than the 22 goals to 16 and I would much rather watch a 0-0 epl game over a 4-1 goal fest

That's why I probabky rate the two best innings I have ever seen as

Clarkes 140 odd in 'that' test in South Africa where Aussies were bowled out for 40 odd

Steve Waugh 200 against the Windies in 1995, I was only 12 probably created my love of test match batting

Well you Nuffies stick to the t20 rubbish then

Good bowlers have always been able to get wickets on Adelaide oval, however it's not been due to bowling seam up or due to swing a la Brisbane. Adelaide has always been about changes of pace, variations in length and using your bowling brain. If you doubt me read the book Extra Cover by Jack Egan and the quotes attributable to the late Graham Dilley who took more test wickets than any nuffy on here (I include myself in that descriptor too)

The beauty of test cricket is the variances and nuances in the different venues. Yes adelaide has favoured the bat more than the ball but than is a contrast to Brisbane which can be a swing bowlers paradise, Perth traditionally favours pace bowling but can be a road once your in and Sydney favours spin teaditionly.

Yes let's produce the same pitch at every test match venue in Australia!
