I like pitches having different characteristics

I don't mind AO being batter friendly

But imho it has become so batter friendly that the first 3 days of the Adelaide test have become the most boring part of the cricket summer

If I had to rate my top 20 centuries I have seen on tv or live I don't think one would be from the Adelaide Oval

Well you Nuffies stick to the t20 rubbish then

Good bowlers have always been able to get wickets on Adelaide oval, however it's not been due to bowling seam up or due to swing a la Brisbane. Adelaide has always been about changes of pace, variations in length and using your bowling brain. If you doubt me read the book Extra Cover by Jack Egan and the quotes attributable to the late Graham Dilley who took more test wickets than any nuffy on here (I include myself in that descriptor too)

The beauty of test cricket is the variances and nuances in the different venues. Yes adelaide has favoured the bat more than the ball but than is a contrast to Brisbane which can be a swing bowlers paradise, Perth traditionally favours pace bowling but can be a road once your in and Sydney favours spin teaditionly.

Yes let's produce the same pitch at every test match venue in Australia!

What are you on about ?
Your attempts to denounce posters by calling them nuffies is disgraceful

I will try and explain this for you one more time
WHUFC [and myself at times] get bored watching many batsmen dominate many bowlers on a norMALly placid AO oval pitch on days 1-2-3
We both have this mindset because we prefer a pitch that provides a more equal contest between bat and ball.
AO days 1-2-3 might bore us at times but does not mean we are not nuffies
If you cannot understand this paragraph , find a 8 year old person , get them to read the paragraph and get them to explain

I can do better than that, I can get the eight year old and you to explain it to me, it won't take any longer after the eight year has had a go....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

The Adelaide Test was one of the flattest in memory and it comes back to having a pitch which is too batsman friendly.
Curators have been chastised since cricket began for producing the occasional dodgy deck which favors bowlers.
As great a crime, in my book, is creating a wicket too far in favor of batsmen.

Let’s be frank. The Adelaide Test was hard work on all five days.
Shane Warne used to be the pin-up boy of modern Australian curators.
They could prepare a wicket which would be the batsman’s best friend, the Australians would make 450-500, the opposition would be flattened by Warne no matter what the condition of the deck and everyone would declare it “a great track with something for everyone.’’
But now that Warne is gone there was no-one to conjure a last day miracle which gives curators like Les Burdett the fifth day result they crave.
So the conditions are too far in favor of the batsman.
Adelaide has wrongly been portrayed as a spinners deck.
Warne rated it one of his least favorite Australian grounds and averaged around 30 runs per wicket there.
Hopefully next year it will have more in it for the bowlers.

The bolded section is something i really believe is very true

If Crash and the great Warne dont rate it thats good enough in my books. ;)

From an Australian perspective- Pups year in 2012 (1600 runs IIRC) will amount as the greatest I have seen. Punter in 2005 smashed 6 tons on the way to 1500 odd runs looking at the numbers.

For the bowlers- Warne's effort in 2005- 96 wickets in 15 matches with 6 5 wicket hauls and 2 10 wicket hauls is incredible. His ashes series in England where he took 40 in a losing side was massive.
