That won't be enough to keep him. CA want results and he's well and truly not performing to their standards.

S.Marsh?? Really? I think we're in trouble if we're relying on Watto and Marsh to bat themselves into form which I cant see happening anytime soon. Why not try some new fresh blood and get them ready for the Ashes series in England next year?

Understand the frustration with Watson
But his bowling is needed

Until MItchell Marsh is fit , Shane is safe

Watto did his usual passable job this test
52 +17
Picked up a wicket and gave the 4 front line bowlers assistance and a rest

He scored 69 runs which is an average of nearly 35 which is his test average.

Zero chance of being dropped and if they were to go dropping would be miles behind SOS and Burnsy.

Will also be more than handy in the 4th dig at the G. Knee jerk posting by those calling for his head. If you could be dropped for not fulfilling potential he would have been gone before my balls descended

Some rain on the bitumen today, otherwise holding up well

AU 4-174 TEA
239 Lead
S Marsh 17* [ might be his last test innings]
Burns 8* [might be his last test innings , but should be given another chance on what I have seen]

East Coast Smith 14

Just bat all day tomorrow, stuff them.
With the short turn around keep their bowlers out there all day and our bowlers can sit with their feet up. Im sure Harris and Co would love an extra day off. Keep them fresh for Sydney.
We are 2-0 up dont give the suckers a chance

Yeah I know that and Im not knocking the bloke. Was just seeing what people's opinions are if he was to make fewer runs than we would like. I know he's a very aggressive batsman. Just sometimes I watch him and it looks like he's in for another big score and he gives his wicket up. That's the big difference in being a good batsman to being a great batsman. Knowing when to attack and when to leave.

How many other openers in world cricket average 49?
