Another addition to the SAFooty family, with @Bluedemon and his wife giving birth to their first daughter.

When he gets a moment i'll allow him to do the honours.

Congratulations!

OK, so I can now proudly say I'm now 15 weeks into the experience!

As a result, all house renovations have been put on fast forward, which has meant that we have been to busy to notice any real changes.

Although my housework ratio continues to grow :/

Power? How'd you lose that battle?

Poor child only had a choice of either Port or Melbourne anyway...

That was a great read, DW.

It sure is and reflects the way many, including I, see fatherhood.

One thing I would add is that being a Dad and being ( at times ) the seemingly surplus-to-requirements parent changes over time. Whilst the delivery ( obviously ) the early bonding through breast feeding and once beyond the ( typically ) man goes back to work when he's had a couple of weeks "holidays", we become very important. No less or more so than a Mum is.

Whilst generalizing can be a bad thing, "DAAAAAAAAAAD" is what get's called out in the middle of a bad dream or when something goes *bump* in the night, it gets called when the first ball needs to be bowled or the first goal kicked. It gets called out when they're simply too tired to walk any more and need some strong shoulders to get lifted up on.

As they grow older, into their teens, Dad is the dag, the wally and the biggest embarrassment the world has ever seen, but deep down inside they love having you there to embarrass them. Somehow, in some way, they just know it's their turn like we had ours.

Great piece DW.

Cheers mate. I could probably have not done it without her. I. Not overly thrilled with all the praise being heaped on lady Wristy. Let's be honest the Wristy was the catalyst.

I haven't read back yet but will be interested too do so.

Just to clarify there are about 20 scans, 5 ultra sounds, 50 appointments and I basically now transfer my pay direct to the obstetrician. Had to laugh when I saw the visit at 24 weeks costs $1,600. The greatest moment in my life will no doubt come in early October... And after Port win the flag I will also have a baby ;) but gee whiz I had no idea it cost thousands to have a kid. Certainly not complaining and I would sell my kidney for this but I have a question.

How do some girls at Davoren Park and at Salisbury interchange have 3 children??? What am I missing.
