Reckon ill get some mates at the end of the month and do a Riverland/Sunraysia tour. Do Waikerie, Renmark, Coomealla and Mildura around Australia Day.

A mate of mine just recently did waikerie, renmark and another course over a weekend.
Renmark is the best apparently.

Renmark is my favorite in SA. Great course.

Shot an even 50 at Regency today. Started off well however today's change came in later than I anticipated and I'll admit the heat played a role in getting tired very quickly after 5 holes. If I combinned my best last 4 holes with today's first 5 I would have shot 38. **** me I hate this game.

Cove Golf Club have our 2015 program up and ready. PM me if you are interested. First game this Sunday 11th Jan, tee off 8.30am.

Basic description- We are a Social Golf club who play approx every 3 weeks on Sunday Mornings at various metro/country courses. $60 membership gets you an official Golflink handicap/card and SAGA affiliation. You pay Green Fees plus $5 comp fee when you play. We run a Club Champion (stroke), Stableford Champion (duh) and a Captains Trophy (Par) best 2 rounds out of 3 qualifiers. Have some Nearest the pin/Long Drive/Cash hole prizes each round. Play as little or as much as you want.

Keen for some new members as numbers have wained recently (a lot of us have kids with Sunday sports).

Golfshot says my handicap is 18.1, using the old method. We do have a few rules that would significantly increase that though (but increase enjoyment for a casual round)

1. If you can't find evidence of that shot taking place, it never happened. Seeing the ball sailing 30m oob or into water is not evidence if the ball can't be produced.

2. 30 second rule. If you can run and get it and put it on the tee in 30 seconds the shot didn't count. Can also me modified to "let's all take our tee shots again" if everyone hits a bad one

3. We also usually don't worry about provisionals etc. if you can't find a call we usually just drop a ball down roughly where we think it was.

So reckon I would actually be high 20s if I had to worry about it :)

The other rule is no matter how many shots I am up on @dissident I'll always lose. 4 shots in 3 holes is probably the record in that.

Did equal his 85 though the other day even though he had three birdies and an eagle and I had zero of either.

Man I need to join a club :)

http://publicaccessgolf.com.au/ Use the current system and is quite good for keeping an un-official handicap.

We have always played pretty much to the rules, even more so now we are members of a 'real' golf club. I think if i played with your rules i would be in the low teens lol.

My handicap didn't come through in time for last nights comp, would have had 24 points for 9 holes and won it all!

If I played at a proper club there is no way I wouldn't keep to the actual rules.

Played Royal Adelaide yesterday for 37 points. First hit of 2015 and totally blind in regards to where the **** to hit the ball! plenty of blind holes either hitting over a hill off the tee or sharp doglegs into the unknown. Lobbed one into the moon like crater on the 3rd and somehow got it up and out of it in 1

Any danger of putting aside some of those exorbitant membership fees to putting some basic information on the tee block like distance from each marker and maybe a basic map of the hole? Apart from that I did enjoy the layout but I don't think it can overtake my favourite Kooyonga just yet...

Seriously regarding Belair, is it the soil or something? That joint could be a golfing mecca but every time I've been there, it's been below par (pun intended).

not sure, the course was in good condition about 10yrs ago.

they changed management and it went downhill at a rapid rate

the course at the moment is in a lot better than it has been in the past.

but the greens on the 8th are truly deplorable and have been for too long!

Echunga is a better option than Belair

I reckon I could take over that joint and make it stunning, if I had half an education on how to cultivate a golf course.
