I was running back through the history of football at Houghton.

In 1945, Houghton, Hope Valley, TTG & Paracombe had a combined team that played in the Torrens Valley FL. They defeated Gumeracha in the Grand Final.

Bit more history for you Q, although I know the current Houghton club don't share the same history.
1921 TVFA formed with a meeting on May 13th with G Newman being delegate for Houghton. They finished top with 18 points at the end of the minor round but lost their semi final to Birdwood. With the challenge rule they played Gumeracha and won the premiership. Houghton made the finals in 26, 27, 28 & 29 but no premiership. They withdrew from the association in 31. They re entered in 37 and beat Williamstown (now Barossa Dist ) in the G/F but Williamstown beat them in 38. In 39 Houghton drew then beat Mt Pleasant in the G/F replay plus C Greening 38 and their capt Jack Gillard 39 won the Mail Medals. With WW2 no football was played until 46 with Houghton losing the 1st semi final. In 48 Houghton 10-14 beat Lobethal 9-7 and 49 Gumeracha 12-16 Houghton 12-11 to win the premierships. Alas no further mention was made of Houghton thro to 66.
TTG joined in 1922 (not certain how long they stayed ) and Hope Valley in 1924 applied but were refused.
All in info comes from a series of articles I found in "The Mt Barker Courier" newspaper in 1966 by Trevor Graeber a long time footy reporter for that paper. Sorry no mention of the above game you mentioned so can't confirm or deny.

From the Advertiser 24 june 1905
HOUGHTON.
. June 15. — A meeting was held on Satur
day evening for the purpose of forming a

dents, Messrs. G. A. Cooper, B. A. Atkin
Bon, and EL Vickery; captain, Mr. W. Sex
ton; vice-captains, Messrs. A. and H. DowFix
Bett; secretary, Mr. S. Possingham; trea
surer, Mr. E. Hannaford.

Yep and in 1910 the Henley football club players travelled to Houghton via horse & cart for a friendly football game and on the way home the middle of the night the cart collapsed leaving men and women stranded in the middle of no where

Luckily a few managed to walk to ttg to get a new horse and cart as the Henley folk eventually made it home by sunrise
