The game also threw up an interesting thing that rarely happens in cricket and I would keen to see what people think. Matt Weaver played the ball to mid on and set off for a quick single, Dand who was bowling dived across the pitch to the leg side and knocked Tim Evans, the non striker over (un intentionally) but big contact was made. The ball was thrown to the keeper with Tim still on his back run out. Whats peoples thoughts on calling a player back in that instance? Im not saying there is a right or wrong answer just be interested in peoples thoughts.

Thought it was a bit harsh, tough call at that stage but would have called him back. Obviously knew Evans was main danger as in red hot form, so would have been a big call.

Other run out was just as game changing. Borgas looked like he was going to win the game off his own bat, first ball Hutchinson is out there he runs him out. Could have cost the game the way Borgas was batting.

This season. Both Sayers boys no longer at Woodville. Chadd at Glenelg and Aaron moving to Port Adelaide.

Some big scores yesterday - Adelaide 8/395 dec vs TTG, Uni 8/426 dec vs Glenelg and Southerns 7/337 vs Prospect.

Sturt 6/111 chasing Kensington's 161, East Torrens chasing Northerns 264 and Woodville 4/42 chasing Port's 212 all important in the make up of the top 4.

A pretty even comp again this year - although Woodville fairly clear on top, despite the loss of the Sayers' at the start of the season.

East Torrens vs Adelaide and West Torrens vs Sturt in Prelims of the One Day Cup today, with most of the state players available.

Southerns were 7/234 at around the mid 70 over mark.
That Uni score is high but at any other ground it would be 350 tops.
One thing about the Bays is they struggle to bowl teams out but can bat.
Same for Prospect but they have a double whammy. Struggle to do either.

East Torrens defeated Adelaide by 2 runs whilst Sturt defeated West Torrens, sadly for me, by three wickets in the last over.

Cheers

A couple of quality games by the sounds of it. West Torrens did well to get to 234 in the end. Kelvin Smith was out for 80 and the score 5/111 - before Daniel Drew guided the team to 234 with a run-a-ball unbeaten 60 down the order. Sturt batted very well as a team, seemingly being in control the whole innings with wickets in hand. A couple of times Torrens looked like they'd poke their noses in front, but Sturt would reply with a couple of boundaries to steady the ship and keep the run rate in check. Good luck to Sturt and East Torrens in the final.

At 6/75 Adelaide did extremely well to get as close as they did. The lower order showing the top how it was done. In the end poor shot selection brought about 4 blokes undone. Phil Neate was a shattered man after the game....

Noticed Aaron Sayers didn't front up against Woodville this week. The old "going to a wedding" card may have been played.

Neate turned a single down in the last over.

Would have made it 2 runs to win, 1 to tie off 3 balls with No 11 on strike. Then he got bowled, game over.

Did he do the right thing? What's Lavender like with the bat?

Cranmer gets the final wicket on an extremely emotional occasion for him. Heart warming stuff.

Reckon you'll find he would have missed this game no matter who it was against (or who he was playing for) best man in mates wedding I believe.
Just co-incidence it was against Woodville.

Stop trying to stir up rubbish.

East Torrens are listed first so Campelltown is the other option.

Just on ET fantastic effort for their 'Andy Cranmer' day. Would have been nearly 300 to 400 people on the hill in front of their club. Couple of small on field dummy spits by the home team but in the end with 2 Redbacks blokes in the side and one of them ODI standard was just too much for us. Just add it to the list of our finals **** ups in the last 30 years

A strange occurrence at Henley yesterday in the WT vs Bangladesh game....Spencer Johnson bowled 4 balls in a row and then LBW on the 5th.
1 - No Ball - Bowled
2 - Free Hit - Bowled
3 - No Ball - Bowled
4 - Free Hit - Bowled
5 - LBW - Out

Surely this is some kind of record....

can anyone answer this question?
If you are bowled on a free hit and the ball beats the keeper and goes to the boundary do you score 4 byes? I would think you do.

The trial game was actually against Afghanistan.

Did happen twice when he was bowled on the Free hit, went for Byes.

The fourth time he was "out", it only went for one bye, which was a shame as he was no longer on strike.

So the fifth ball which states above he was LBW, is not correct.

He was caught later in the over, so the Afghan bowler actually took five wickets in the over, but the scorebook only shows him taking one.

Was one of the funniest things ever seen on a cricket field!!
