Shane has been really good for us thus far. His trainings have been fun and on occasion just the right amount of difficult. He has said all the right things and has the players on board. He has managed to recruit a couple of likely types - we obviously want and need more but he is working very diligently on that.

No complaints at all from this black duck and we are glad he is getting another crack at it after being treated unfairly in the media last year.

I'm not sure that is true.
Well either am I. It's all speculation at this stage.

If they play with the side that played against us in the second game last year, they'll be quite competitive. If they add a sprinkle of quality, they will make finals and will be a threat.

EDIT: And i see from the D6 thread they've added Varcoe ....

No comment was my decision FC. Why go over old ground and drag Mitchell Park in to it when the article is of little interest. If the said writer was actually looking for a feel good story no probs, but he seems to be a very negative writer who's glass is always half empty.
The good news is that the community has rallied behind Shane and likewise all the new players who have come to the club. I am in the middle of registering 56 players who have all signed with another 10 to go in the next 2 weeks. So we will clearly be playing in Div 7 with 2 teams. I want to say thanks to everyone who has worked tirelessly on getting it together and in particular the staff at the League who have been amazing.
Now that's my comment. :D

Nice one Q. Stop trying to take the spotlight of your boys. If I was a betting man I'd be shying away from morells odds of 12/1 cos they are unders. We can hope only at this stage to win more than we lose. :D

Tea Tree Gully will surely be very strong with David Ford and Daniel Wicks apparently playing C grade all year. Possibly with a couple of other big 'div1' names too...

Golding?

Apparently Pollock off to the APFL too. Could be a long year for their A-grade.

For someone that knows so much you'd know salisbury won't be div 8 this year.

What makes u so confident they barely had one team last year (crabs) and as of 14th feb have barely put in 6 new registrations

Salibury west likely losing up to 30 players u reckon theyre staying put?

Do all clubs need 50 registered by yesterday or only the clubs who had 1 side last year?

Only certain clubs need to meet those player numbers.

Apparently Flinders Uni had quite a few players missing out each week last year and reports suggest they will have enough for two teams.

well wouldnt there be someone at HQ with some common sense to say nah sorry ROCs u best start in Div 8

Having seen both grades over the last two years, I can say that the top c1 sides of last year would be among the top sides in div 8. The jump for rocks should prove very surmountable and I'd be surprised if they weren't around the mark if they played div 7.
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

No mate, nothing to do with numbers. Just a desicion the club has made for various reasons. Similar to Athelstone a couple years ago when they went from 4 to 3 teams.

Apologies mate, we would've loved the idea (same with North Haven) but other circumstances meant we were only going with three.
