Exquisite India
beach rd
Christies Beach

for all the southerners you are far better goin to Oh Calcutta.

Arrived shortly before 6pm. First eat in customers for about 15mins.

entree took 20 mins and was fair.

mains were 25mins after that

lamb was just tough and chewy
chicken was pleasant - hard to go wrong.

lack of decent aircon

the positive is 25% off in the Ent book but still $54.

Give the voucher away

Ok, I'm not going to enter into the Walaroo Ale House v Local pub argument.
I can only comment on what I experienced, not what I drove passed.

Tuesday lunch @ Coopers Ale House Wallaroo.

Arrive at midday to be told we had no booking. I rang & booked a fortnight beforehand and told them this & the name of the bloke who I spoke to (he was within earshot and scarpered away).
Not to worry, this place is big, really big. You can eat in the front bar/tavern, out on the deck over looking the marina or in the bistro with floor to ceiling glass also looking at the water. We chose the bistro as it was air conditioned & more kid friendly (4 year old, 2 year old & pram for miss 11 week old).

$10 LUNCH SPECIAL :supz:

Choice of chicken breast or beef schnitzel with salad & chips (variety of sauces/toppings + $3).
Pasta of the day or curry of the day.
Rump steak with chips & salad.
Also, the daily special was salt & pepper squid ($10)
Kids had nuggets & chips and also fish & chips ($6.50 each)

The meals were ALL excellent, came out within 10 mins which was surprising as I'd say there were 60-70 people there having a feed, and they were a good size. The beer was icy cold.

I will be back. 9/10

We went to the Salisbury Hotel tonight.

It was 2 for 1 meals tonight, and they have specials for every other day of the week too.

So Mrs. Creation ordered a seafood basket, which consisted of a generously sized fish (Mrs. C. thinks it was Whiting), with a few squid rings, a few decently sized prawns, chips and some salad. While the chips and salad were on the small side, the fish and seafood were quite delicious. Awesome, even. 8/10.

I ordered a 400g rump steak, medium rare, with mushroom gravy, which came with chips and salad. The rump, while being just a little overcooked for my liking, was quite tender and flavourful, and the mushroom gravy was adequate, despite the lack of actual mushrooms. 7/10.

Our order came to $31, including a jug of Coke. You can't whinge about that.

Entertainment Book don't usually let you use vouchers on V-Day, for those playing at home.

No air-con??

I feel your pain. I too, am aircon-less.

But to stay on topic.

Goodlife on O'Connell. Everyone raves about it, I thought it was ok but don't understand the hoo-haa.

Service was great and we ordered 6 pizzas which didn't take forever and a day to come out. I had the bacon pizza but had a taste of the prawn, which whilst it had some massive mother prawns on it and tomatoes cut into quarters, made if kind of awkward to eat.

I'd give it a 7/10

Horribly over rated and dramatically overpriced. Reminds me of when I used to make Pizzas with the kids at child care and all sorts of random shit would end up on them.

Strathmore Hotel

As always the stone grill was sublime but all was not rosy....

The service was average and we were half way through our meals before I got my beer and the wife was finished her meal by the time they got her drink right
Garden Salad was bland, dry and looked like packet salad without dressing
Some stalky SAFooty posters where there ;)
Gold card not valid on V Day was not ideal
WORST of all the A/C was broken on a 41 degree day and the venue was hot and when the stonegrill plates came out it was brutal

The steaks were great but we were in and out in 40 mins (actually ideal as the crickets on :D )

Overall 7/10

In a food coma, forgive me.

Ordered 'The Cure' burger with sides of fried chicken and arancini balls.

The balls were top notch, crunchy on outside and cheesy in the middle. Chicken was tasty and succulent and came with a delicious dipping sauce.

The burger had two Angus beef patties, double bacon double cheese and pickles. Meat was great, but the pickles were even better and the burger held together well for its size.

Up there with one of the best burgers I've had in Adelaide.

I predict a late start and small detour on route to work one day this week. Just checked out their menu and it looks the goods.
