No

That's shit.

As someone who had the Flinders Park/Wingfield split last year, this scenario is infinitely better given the super close proximity of the clubs.

Can't believe Rocs didn't nominate a fourth side, a mate i worked with said they use to have 10 - 20 blokes missing out on a game each week. They won c1 in 2013? Then year after the club had loads of players and club told them they would be putting in a fourth side in this year. Not sure what changed but if anyone looking for excess players.

To be fair it's not just having extra players, it's also finding an extra coach, team manager, boundary umpire, goal umpire, field umpire, trainers, water runners, training space/times.

The logistics of fielding a fourth side, especially when your club has not built up the infrastructure to do so is a lot more difficult than merely having 95 odd blokes willing to play a game of football.

Extra support staff is just one of the numerous reason why we dropped our 4th side, even though im sure round one we will have 20 odd blokes missing out on a game

There are of course huge benefits to having a fourth side, namely having two home games every Saturday of the season is a huge financial boon for the Club (along with as a general principle having more people around is good).

This just needs to be balanced against having an appropriate number of volunteers

Time to talk footy instead of worrying about changes to the Div.

Houghton: Will they finally take the next step after failing in the past two finals series?
Adelaide Uni: Always around the mark and i expect them to be again this season also.
St Pauls: Will the new start up team make an instant impact or take time to gel as a team?
Angle Vale: Will Varcoe prove to be the saviour of the Owls and list the club back up?
Mitchell Pk: Will the club #restoretheroar and return to former div 7 succes?
Flinders Uni: Will the new influx of students and players be enough to make finals?
Salisbury West/North Pines: Will whatever is left over at both clubs be enough to be competetive?

With each team required to endure 3 byes in this division

That makes it a 15 match season for each club

How many home games will each club get instead of 9? 6 home games?

The talk is to have a 19 round season with top four making finals and playing a 3 week finals series. And in one of the rounds have 3 teams have a bye so everyone plays the same amount of games. Its what the adelaide plains league do from what ive been told.

Sick of hearing about fixtures to be honest. Just excited to get the season started. Can't believe we're already a week into March...

Couldn't agree more stop whinging about fixtures its Div 7 footy you are one of the lowest amateur grades, no one cares and you have no preference over other divisions.

Ditto. To be honest we are just happy to still be alive and have what we hope will be a competitive team. Looks to me like a very even group of teams and there should be same terrific games. Let's just get on with it.
Houghton favourites, Uni to be strong again and a blanket over the rest. I'd like to see a final 5 even though that means 2 miss out. We will all most likely buy home finals so why not. :)

Yeah right. Your committee would be so happy to just sacrafice a few home games and all the revenue it brings, just as long as u boys can sleep comfortably at night and not having any strain on your day

Individuals first, clubs second

Who gives a shit who you might & might not be playing, having 9 home games is far more important than having 6

Lets just drop 33% of our home game revenue for the season so mr individual doesn't have to wait a few extra days for better more rewarding fixture

its a 7 team competition? so it takes 7 rounds to play everyone as well as having a bye?....

1 v 2
1 v 3
1 v 4
1 v 5
1 v 6
1 v 7
bye

so after 14 rounds youd have played everyone, and had 2 byes? 6 home games so far? :D

so how is rounds 15-18 formatted?

If you took the time to study the draw you'd work it out. We play 16 games, 8 at home with 2 byes which will be club functions. We play 4 teams 3 times so no biggie. For the record I am part of our committee and WE as in club are very comfortable with where it is at. ;)

its a result of moving c/d clubs into their own little comp dikhead. Sound familiar or didn't you put that much thought into the end result.
