I read last week that the reserves curtain raiser to the Power game at Norwood was cancelled at the last minute by the AFL, On another forum I also read that an u/18 curtain raiser game between Norwood and the Eyre Peninsula was also cancelled by the AFL.

The missed opportunity to play in front of a big crowd would be a disappointment to these lads and makes you ask the question of how the AFL is supporting grass roots footy ?

Essendon v GWS. Unfortunately for Essendon Gwilt is actually a listed player and not a top up player. Good turn over.

I've really enjoyed the World Cup. Still reckon they should have sixteen teams, four groups of four three play off matches top eight go through. How hard is it? As for the NAB, well that's always sucked balls.

Yeah interesting result. Melb couldn't even over run a team of kids and delisted players with no preseason.

Daniher was also good Jim. Worked hard up forward.

Joey was very good, starting to read the play better aswell.
Hams and Dalgleish also quite good, both have had injury problems but hopefully we will start to see them at their best, Dalgleish has an explosive burst of pace which is something our midfield lacks

You wont let that go will you. I dont think it will ever be anything more than the crow show while Rowe is there. It would be nice if they were more like SEN for example. I'd give anything for a decent sports radio show.

Bickley is a Crows employee, and Rowe an ambassador of the club, but yeah, heck it's the Portpowa radio show.

Just watched the Bulldogs and Collingwood.

So Norwood could not have their reserves play because of potential damage to the surface but that surface at the Dome, especially in front of the players benches is OK?

Was it the surface that caused collingwood to be rubbish or were the doggies just that much better?

The dogs were good, From memory, number 4 Bontenlli or something like that was great early, grant very good, and it was a good all round performance from all. Robert Murphy got AFL life membership and he is a player that Imenjoy watching. Glad to see a one club player through lean times get recognised. Caleb Daniel from South came on as the sub and continues to impress.

Although its only the NAB challenge, at this stage you would want to be starting to play better. Doggies are looking for a jump stat to the season. Collingwood will be ok in my opinion but would want to work a bit harder.

Bontempelli is already a star, should have won the rising star last year and goal of the year! Looking forward to him kicking on after a stellar debut, although he'll be pretty much leading a rookie midfield after cooney, griffin and higgins left plus libbas knee and boyd looks to be playing a lesser midfield role. I love the thought of weeman caleb daniel getting a gig... I'm even shorter than him, he's 167cm i reckon, but it would be great to see the little bloke strutting his stuff in the big league...
