Freeling had a hit out against Kadina and went down by about 4 goals but hard to gauge becos of all the players missing due to cricket finals

Gawler South had a good hitout against Mallala on Sunday. South won comfortably and looked fit and as though they will be up and about again this season.

Is that locked in annually?

Not sure. Strong connections between the two clubs, so possibly.

Barossa played Lobey in all grades, dont think they won any but sounds like the A's was competitive.
Centrals went down by a couple of goals to Salisbury North last night.
Freeling absolutely smashed by TTG.
Dont know how Kapunda went and unsure of how South went against Ironbank

Kapunda beat Riverton fairly easily. 4 to 6 goals and a lot of points.
Both teams missing some players I'd say. Generally good footy on a glorious day for it.

Opening round today and not a lot of interest yet it seems.
Who will the pace setters this year and what can we look forward to?
For today im going
Centrals over Willaston by plenty, Tigers hot favourites to go back to back and the Donnies to slide quite a bit.
Freeling in a close one over Angaston, will be keen to see if either side improves this year and make a run for finals
Nuri over Barossa by heaps, Nuri traditionally start slow but look good on paper and should have too much for the Dogs, real long year for Doggies supporters coming up.
Kapunda in an upset over South, think the Bombers may spring a surprise and talk around town is quite positive on having a good year.
Good luck to all, ripper of a day to start it off

Went down by about a goal to South today, led by a couple of goals at 1/2 Time and South looked fairly ordinary. Third quarter they came out running and their mosquito fleet just ran us off our feet, reckon South led by about 2-3 goals at the last break. South extended their lead to about 4-5 goals before a bizarre bit of play saw them have a bloke sent off. From my position in the pocket it appeared the player sent off was about 100m away from where the altercation occured, must of been mistaken identity or an incident off the ball, unsure but with South a man down for 10 minutes we started peppering the goals and could of pinched it at the end.
Lots to like about the Bombers this year, probably not quite as fit as South but was impressed with some of the skills on show

Has that rule changed? The sent off player has always been able to be replaced.

Player got a red card, I believe the rule is that the player is off for the remainder of the game and you cant replace him for 10 minutes.

Seen the Kapunda/ South game Saturday - Can't say i seen the incident with the player being red carded - I will say that Kapunda looked alot better than last year. South looked like winning by 6+ goals but the Bombers kept coming and if kicked straight should have won. You got to love the way B. Valentine goes about it - Really impressive Saturday and Cussadia had plenty of it. For south Appleton, C. James, Foldesdy clearly there best.

Centrals by plenty not really a surprise - Although confidence coming out of the Willaston that they will improve sharply once recruits get settled.

South by 8 points over Freeling. Fairly scrappy game, Freeling look to have improved but still a lot of improvement for South.

A draw in the night game I see.
Weather wasnt great but what was the crowd like?
Was the night a success and will this lead to more night games?
