If I recall correctly Kilburn had their points taken away for their first 6 games of the 2012 season for inadvertently fielding a side with too many points.

Pretty sure they didn't lose another game on their way to a premiership

First 5 games. The Chick train was actually 3 and 2 but became 0-5 and would then run through the comp undefeated for the remainder of the year and finals series

Many/most of the blokes who returned to them this year played then (Whelan, Mccallum, Urbancic, Graham, Howson etc.)

They were missing Scudds a ruckman and some others I believe which threw their balance out. Not taking in to account the loss of points they would have had a good win against Flinders the week before. Probably a bit early to tell where anyone is at.

Not really IMO - PHOS from all reports are a very good side - they played Div 2 last year and got relegated but were only two games out of 4th position. I dont know if they kept a large number of that side from last year, or improved it but dropping back to Div 3 with a side that wasnt that far off finals in Div 2 the year before. Flinders Park were in the same boat - not too many sides get relegated when they win 6 games and 4th and 5th only win 8. I expect that to see more of the jump as we play more of last years Div 3 sides IMO.

Frustrating day yesterday at harpers. Dominated all aspects of the game bar 15mins in the last 1/4 that allowed Pembroke to get within 4 points. Kicked the last couple to settle but really should have won by 5-8 goals. That really is the difference between d3and 4. Lower grades will let you get away with 10min lapse and come away unscathed.

They have some guys with good but then a bunch of very very light framed guys as well. Their spread and transition wasn't great. Fitness? Shouldn't be able to use that excuse. Preseason is barely over.

Control stoppage and stop their outside run and you should win.

Connors is very good for them. Seriously though, how can a guy end up on an afl list or play any football at league level if they have nearly zero ability to kick on their opposite foot?

Good the see Flinders get smashed. Nothing personal. Just good to know that PHOS are that damn good and it wasn't just being incredibly shite last week. 4 or so teams in a Dog fight for 2nd I reckon.

Don't think eljay Connors was on an afl list. His brother dan played for Richmond.

PHOS vs Athelstone this week should be an absolute cracker. Both teams undefeated, who will go 5-0?

Athelstone have looked solid under new coach Jade Sheedy.

PHOS have kicked over 20 goals in 4 of there 5 games.

It will be a ripper alright.. PHOS' ground would still be going ok depsite the rain we've had so there would be no reason to expect anything other than a high scoring affair again.

Ground is holding up nicely it doesn't normally fall apart till June/July and since we have no A grade and Bgrade games at home in June it might stay together for the year. Hopefully the game lives up to it will be good to catch up with blublurag who I'm sure is lurking here somewhere.

Yes, it was good to see you yesterday Bandar, and thanks for the hospitality after the game. Was a good game, but not the high scoring one some were forecasting. It was a pretty dour affair and went down to the wire. Fortunately for us we were in front when the siren went. Could have gone either way.
