Eastern conference playoffs took a turn. Cleveland as expected swept the Celtics. But Love had his shoulder popped out on a dog act by Kelly Olynyk while Smith is going to get a suspension. Love could be done until the next season starts and at the least for the next round you'd imagine even with a best case scenario. Love wants a suspension dished out for the incident that led to him getting hurt and I agree with him. When you play sport, any sport, you put yourself in vulnerable positions where you need to trust the other people playing to show some responsibility for your well being. If grabbing a bloke's arm when it's outstretched and yanking it out of joint is ok then heaven help us.

Love just unlucky. Happens all the time down low with players fighting for position.

Love was certainly unlucky. But the arm was in a vulnerable position. Grabbing it and pulling that hard isn't part of the game. Grappling, fine. But that went way beyond. He wasn't even any chance of getting the ball at that point. Hence the 1 game ban. Smith getting 2 might seem light in comparison but 1 regular season games compared to 2 conference semis makes it a big deal. Gives the Bulls a chance if they get there. But still think LeBron is going to be too much.

Whats everyone's thoughts on the MVP. Personally i think Curry over Harden. Be intersting to see All NBA first team with Curry / Harden back court, means Westbrook will be second team. Hope they dont pull some 3 guard crap just to get Westbrook in

Love got his hand to the ball...

Jae Crowder has a strained ACL because of the way he fell due to the punch... Sure he can rest it in the off season, but surely you should be up in arms (pun slightly intended) over a punch not a tie up...

Smith has previous form - he was suspended when playing for the Knicks in a playoff game ironically against the C's as well.

Smith was ejected for his incident and was always going to pay the price. At the time I posted Olynyk was assessed a regular foul and a suspension was mere speculation. 4-6 months out. He didn't fall and land awkwardly and hurt it. It was wrenched out. Purely by the opposition. Have a look at the shot. The ball is on the completely wrong side to the opposition player. He wasn't fighting for the ball anymore, that battle was lost. He just simply ripped it without any hope of gaining the ball fairly.

Point the finger all you like and say "that's worse" (the outcome isn't mind you) but neither was within the rules. Neither was within the spirit. You can try to condone what the bloke did all you like but you just look like you have no understanding of the game. This isn't footy where that is allowed in some circumstances and can be expected. You stick your arm out like that in basketball expecting, rightly, not to have it ripped out of joint.
