Was told during the week that crows top up players can play for their home club on the same weekend as they are not contracted to the crows but play for them under a permit but if a player plays for an SANFL (not Port obviously) club they can't play for their grassroots club on the same weekend as they are contracted to the SANFL club.

What a bunch of hypocrites those AFL wankers are! Bitch and complain that their precious AFL players must have a 6 day break between matches but let their non professional players helping them out play 2 games in 24 hours.

Div 3 amatuers have had an issue re blokes playing for the SANFL side on the Friday and their local club on the Saturday. Assuming they have different rules to the HFL however. Hopefully this link will work.

Lost their points, long story short. Broke a rule of the SAAFL Rules & Regs though I believe, HFL may be different.

Different rules in different leagues. Jake Sutcliffe plays for the crows Friday night and free to play Saturday for Ardrossan in YPFL.

Few upsets today with hahndorf beating echunga although it appeared the dees had a few out, We managed to just beat lobe in what was a really good tough game given the conditions. Uris easily accounted for onkas, Barker ran over lofty in the 3rd quarter before holding on in the last and TV just keep winning beating the woods by 5 goals.

so Echunga has some players out. is that suggesting that Hahndorf didn't???
all clubs have players every week. there is no doubt that injuries effect all clubs and the teams that have those injuries to "lesser" players
and have good depth will be able to cover more effectively.
the comp looks very even and anyone can compete on any given week!

Strangely enough, you'll make up points on Echunga this weekend as apart from their A Grade, their other teams are unlikely to generate any points for them.

Just like Torrens Valley, their A Grade is Div 1 standard, the rest of the club is very much Div 2.

Have u seen our other grades ladder positions, in the past our other grades have been near the pointy end but we are really struggling this year. Our U15's lost to Uraidla by 3 points & I've already received complaints that they had 5 good players from Mt Barker helping them, 2 of which were in Mt Barkers best the week before when we played them.

This is an example of why the relegation system is totally flawed - particularly when junior grades have such a bearing on the ultimate outcome.
Uraidla propped up by Mt Barker, TV with overage permits and some clubs not fielding u/13's (when this was supposedly a strict requirement to play Div 1)
It is virtually impossible for smaller population clubs to compete in the junior area against towns (suburbs) like Mt Barker, Blackwood, Hahndorf etc.
I am all for having an even comp and leveling things out - but this cannot be achieved equitably with such a population discrepancy.
Some type of system has to be implemented - understandably hard to do of course - that sees this aspect evened out - because currently the odds are stacked heavily in the larger populated clubs favour - and the clubs being assisted by these.
Should we change the Div 1 comp to Mt Barker and Districts League as that is what it's becoming.

Watched my Magpie's beat Echunga on Saturday, and it was a pleasure.

We jumped them early putting scores on the board. Scott Paul was fantastic and the inclusion of Handby gives us more size at the stoppages along with some real class. Both sides played very similar happy to link and run the footy getting into open space trying to give their forwards the best opportunity.

Echunga had their chances and there wasn't much between the two sides. Just the ability to finish off the work in front of goal. If we can get Wittwer back in at some stage we could challenge the likes of Echunga and Torrens Valley at years end.

Hahndorf have really turned around from last year, is it the same squad or have you picked up a few (apart from the 2 Onkas boys ya B***ARDS)

Hahndorf were good on Sat night and finished off better than Echunga - which was essentially the difference.
Handby was good and with Wittwer in they will test the better sides.
Echunga missed Dave Edmonds, Handke and Edwards direction as captain so will improve on that performance.
With Carey returning and Newenham, Steve Edmonds, Girke, Wilson, Reuther and White to come in, the side will have a different makeup as the season progresses.
Great to see the A grade comp highly competitive as it presents a good match every week.

On the weekend I was told that the SAAFL has given all clubs 15 points across the board now. Has anyone else heard similar or is this a case of BS?

Yes 15 points and 17 for finals games.

It's in 13.3 of their rules and regulations - http://www.saafl.asn.au/uploads/Pages/p ... copy10.pdf

I saw the Hahndorf v Echunga game Saturday night too, and would echo the other observations. Hahndorf took their opportunities a little better than Echunga, and that was the difference. that being said I thought Hahndorf's pressure on the ball carrier was excellent all night and didn't allow Echunga any easy shots.

h
Handby was an important inclusion and in the second half was very good.
Peter Lindsay was very good for Echunga.

Very competitive comp this year. Lobethal were expected to be around the mark in 2015 with some handy ins (to make up for some key outs), but at the moment are looking like an also ran. Can't believe the loss on Saturday against the bankers who were missing a few keys. I hope the boys can rally this week and pick up a win against TV. But the Lions seem to be unstoppable. Can anyone report how they're lining up and game plan? Obviously a gun midfield midfield and 3 strong forwards, are they vulnerable down back?

You guys did seem a bit down on the weekend but there's to much class in your side not to get back on track and playing at lobe on the wide expanses will help this weekend. TV were very impressive by all accounts, they have renshaw down back who is really good but may lack enough defenders to control all your forwards. Whoever wins the midfield battle will win the game but if you don't your defenders will be in for a hard day.
Was a great win for us with out motlop and de visser, plus losing another recruit johnson in the first quarter we only had 3 recruits. 17 locals played and all have improved under jars which is great to see. We would of saved a bit of money on the weekend also with only Hitchcock getting paid I assume haha
