I reckon it's 'easy' to ignore what's happening with the series.
It happens all the time in, say, Batman, Spiderman or even Star Wars.
The comics/books continue and the movies write their own version and sometimes adapt what is in them as part of the story theme, always staying true to the essence of the characters, despite how the story line may diverge.

Yeah that's true. But typically both stories aren't evolving as much or at the same time.

There's a new Spidey comic every month, isn't there?

My missus is a Star Wars nut and I was surprised by just how many books there were in the series - massive. Hundreds.

That's my thinking too, didn't really mention it in my first post

But it doesn't really matter if they deviate from any given story because there are so many out there. As long as they stay true to his character it doesn't matter.

GoT is different though because there is only really one narrative. And one that hasn't even finished yet. So I think it is different in that sense that there is a departure already.

Yep, I don't think there would have been any thoughts of screen adaptation when he started writing. I think he has mostly written the final books and had the major plot points sorted out yonks ago. He had truckloads of alternate endings though so Id imagine has had a few throughout the TV series.

Firstly, assassins Creed Arya Stark edition.

Secondly, how awesome were the danerys and Tyrian scenes.

Thirdly, HOLY F*CKING WHITEWALKERS!!!

Best episode since the purple wedding imo.

Dany's scenes will actually be interesting now that Tyrion is in them. Tyrion saves the day again.

Mind blown when Jon Snuh's sword killed the white walker...dat Valyrian steel.

When the White Walker and Jon's swords collided-
Walker: WTF?!
Jon: Don't look at me man, I know nothing; I'm as confused as you

I need to watch the episode again, that final scene was hectic.

They have a lot of content to cram into the final two episodes.

They don't necessarily need to as they are ahead of the books in many aspects, but I suspect you're right though as Episode 10, according to several sources (including at least 2 cast members), is set to "break the internet" apparently.

There will have to be some form of development for all of the main characters you'd think before the next hiatus.

The only real 'good guy' to die has been Barristan. This worries me. Please leave Jon Snuh and Bron alone. Piss off that Cersei bish.

Jora has Greyscale, so hard to see a good ending for him - Although I guess Stannis did manage to explain a way to get it treated, I'd imagine he didn't tell us for nothing.

I don't think Jorah intends to get treated, rather, go out out in a blaze of glory.
