I have to ask, Why? Why would you take up such a contact sport at 31? Just miss feeling sore? Lol

Yeah well finally enough due to my previous injuries I'm now probably in the best physical shape of my life. And yeah I miss that feeling on a Sunday morning aching all over knowing u gave it ur all for a club of people that love it. You just don't get that from gym training

I miss that competitive edge and comradiary u get from okay sport, Ideally I would play AFL but I can't lift my right shoulder above my head so taking marks would be out the question, plus there is still far to many thugs getting around in ammo footy for my liking.

Have been training with the rugby guys for a month now without playing and have finally been convinced to have a go.

Scrum half Is probably the least contacted player on the park.

Plus i have finally admitted to myself I probably wasted football talent with laziness and have gone through a divorce, change of job so have been thinking why not give this a go. I have played footy, tennis, cricket, soccer, basketball competitively so thought why not add this to the list

It is crazy

havent been to Japan yet, but Trains definitely > Flying.

A good example was when I caught the train from London to Edinburgh. Around 1 hour flight time, and 4.5 hours on the train, on the relative slow (200kph) train.

That sounds like a lot of time difference, but
The train station was 15 minutes walk from where we were staying, and you can rock up 5 minutes before. Same in Edinburgh, roughly 20 mins walk.
Contrast that with Flying - 1 hour on the bus to Gatwick, get there at least an hour beforehand, then the hour flight, then another 15-20 minutes to get your bag, then 45 minutes on the bus, then find your way to your hotel.

So in reality, the full journeys took around the same time.

And becasue we booked early, we got First Class train tickets for cheaper than the Flights, and much cheaper if you include airport transfers at either end.

Then you add in free fully cooked breakfast, free wifi, MUCH more spacious and comfortable chairs, and a decent view.

Trains FTW

Yep, pretty much summed up my thoughts there Benny. No waiting time, no security checks, no picking up luggage on arrival, more leg-room than you need, quiet/smooth trip, scenery rather than clouds.

To stand on a platform and watch a Shinkansen (bullet train) rocket by doing 300+kmph was very cool.
