Saw my first RMFL game on Satdee - Ramblers v Tailem.

Pretty oval there in Murray Bridge and good set up for Pink day - looked very well planned from what I saw. There's always a certain ambiance about country games though..

Tailem would be a lot better side if their defenders communicated with each other. Just didn't seem to be much structure back there.

Had to leave at 3/4 time but whilst the standard appeared to be a lot quicker and smoother throughout the midfield in parts than what I'm used to, the defence left me frustrated at times and made the Ramblers forwards look decidedly better than they probably actually are. I know at least 2 of the back 6 are from the city, not sure about the others.

No.7 from Tailem busted his arse a bit and thought no.3 from Ramblers was good.

The most disappointing part of the day was the fact that I was hanging to buy some home made country soup from the canteen and they'd already sold out. Devo

Couldn't believe my ears yesterday! I was told by the father of one of our U/17's that another club in the RMFL had approached their boy and offered $200 a game to play for them in the A's so they could get another point to use on other imports. If true then it makes me wonder just how far clubs will go to bend the rules where possible.

What has Brad Eagle's contribution been like for Meningie this year?
He certainly did not live up to the hype at Blackwood FC.

Probably not the easiest of places to play when your his size, ankle deep in mud regularly and very few goals kicked in a game. As the season wears on and he becomes accustomed to the bigger dryer decks here in the RMFL I think he will be a force in the back half of the year.

Ramblers to belt Jervois by 15 goals,
Mannum by 10 goals over taliem,
Imps/Meningie game will be a ripper. In recent years these two teams have had some great games. Imps are well and truly up and about at the moment and Meningie don't seem to have hit there straps yet. I'm going out here and wouldn't surprise me at all if this was a draw. But I've gotta go with Meningie by 3 points.

Hey grassy, heard there was quite the ruckus when your mob played Jervois last week? Not surprised Benbow was involved of course. That said I could swear the umpires are intimidated by Jervois. Some of the cheap shots, spear tackles, knees and elbows that are obvious to us as spectators and are never seen by the imps are ridiculous. Ironic thing is tho you even touch them and they carry on like a bunch of school girls

So this forum has become almost dead as of late so lets get some debate going here. Why dont we name in order the team you least like thru to the team you follow & give a reason why you dislike that team so much. For example, most people think that as a Rambler supporter, I must hate Imps the most but it far from the truth. My least favourite team is Mypo & mainly because if they get in front or beat you, they carry on like a bunch of heroes with smug looks on there faces. Least to fav for me are
Mypo
Jervois
Imperials
Meningie
Tailem
Mannum
I should say Tailem are my least hated but Hogarth is a fair pin head

Well just past the half way point of the season
Big surprise would be Imperials -sitting a game clear on top - beat Mannum tomorrow just about certainty to finish top
Mannum have the feeling this club is ready to explode - whether that is on the field or off it not sure
Meningie - going along quietly good win last week at home against Mannum - still a big chance
That is the top 3 IMO - clearly
Mypolonga - not much has changed at Tigerland - still has the ability to snatch defeat after having a big lead - not sure they have the players or the will
there is more ability and enthusiasm standing at the caravan than on the field.
Ramblers - Again lacking quality - need Brad Hartman back to have a chance of going past first week of finals

Yeah at halfway its a 3 horse race for sure between imps, mannum and meningie with all capable of taking home the flag. Mypo and ramblers dont have the quality and depth to be a major threat while jervois and tailem can only really look forward to their bottom of the ladder encounters as they both search for their next win and try avoid the spoon

Haven't seen as much of the footy as I'd like. Two teams given no chance at the start of the year in Imps and Mannum fighting for top spot tomorrow who woulda bloody thought hey. Some quality in both sides. Sumner the x-factor. Have heard Mannum picked up a handy mid-season recruit??

Who have been the stars this year? obviously Timmy and Brad Hartman when playing. Kellock getting a lot of praise out the Roo camp. Eckerman playing well and usual suspects from Meningie.

You must be kidding Big Dawg. Sumner has been terrific for Imps. Won the game off his own boot against Mypo and every team has found it very difficult to match up on him. Fancy saying a former AFL player is average at best.

Not a good day for the blue bagger die hards. To hear as the evening wore on the excuses of our outside players , hall , smith , honner , Kenny didn't play was just a cop out . It is my understanding that Mannum also had Chris Hall, Maloney , turner and walker out as well , so I don't think either team would have had excuses if they lost. It was just one of those days for us that nothing went right . Just beware WE WILL BE BACK.

Is Krause going to finish out the year with the Roos? If so, a massive coup for Mannum which may be the difference for the run home to the finals.
