Rnd 10 - Eagles v Adelaide @ M T Hyunda Oval (Sat 20/6)

Postby Big Phil » Tue Jun 16, 2015 8:58 am

One of only two games in the second part of the split round, the Eagles take on Adelaide, who are coming off their first win of 2015 a fortnight ago, against the Double Blues. Their best 3 or 4 players were all AFL listed lads.

The Eagles have been going about their business, getting the job done, and this should be an interesting clash. Adelaide's chance of victory may again depend on how many AFL listed players are in their side for this clash.

This game will be LIVE video and audio streamed on the SANFL website this coming Saturday afternoon...

Myself and John Nankivell will be commentating the game and joining us in the call, in a Special Comments role, will be Reigning Norwood Premiership coach Ben Warren...

Looking forward to working with Nanks and Dugga on Saturday...

I think Adelaide's chances totally depend on how many AFL players are available. Eagles would probably be too strong for the amped up version of the Crows magoos who dismantled Sturt a couple of weeks back, but surely Podsiadly and co will get a promotion this week and make the Eagles job a little easier.

I believe the Crows will announce some big signings today to take the wind out of the Eagles sails.

Would love to see the crows get up today and get on a roll, even if it puts them a game clear of my boys. Big few weeks for siggins Atkins Osborn and Shaw who are all out of contract.
The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

What?
Hopefully the Eagles belt them in more ways than one. Should bring Parry back for games against the intruders

Eagles completely blew the Crows away in the first quarter establishing a very strong lead. Crows finished all over them. Second time I've been at Woodville this year and the second time I've seen the Eagles have a big half time lead and be outplayed in the second half, only this time there was for a brief period in the last quarter a chance they might actually drop the game.

Crowd seemed decent, certainly a hell of a lot more than for the Eagles Glenelg game.
No Surrender!

Boyd off for all of the second half didn't help either.

Well done Phil on that promotion, the parade looked good!
Thought crowd looked 2500ish.
McGregor another 3 goals and probably should have had 4-5.

What for, do you know?

Doesn't count as a good performance; wasn't wet weather footy :p

Something today reminded me of a match at Woodville in 1999...back then Port fans had cheered when they heard that Western Bulldogs had overcome a 40 point 3QT deficit to beat the Crows. Today, there was another cheer at a random moment; I assumed Carlton had won...I was right.

Hah funny you should mention that. I knew the siren had just gone in Melbourne, and heard a random cheer and asked my partner if I had missed something. She assured me I hadn't, so I quickly realised what the cheer had been for.

The crowd at yesterdays game was larger than I expected it to be. Congratulations to the kids parade. Its good to see all the promotional activity.
What disappoints me is the lack of promotion our AFL teams put into the local game. I am not sure if the crows AFL players were there. If they were, there could have been some interaction with the local kids and some promotional activity. Any comments Phil.

A good majority of the Crows players and coaches were there in the Percy Fox Stand, one young Eagles fan was quite excited to spot and chat with Rory Sloane and tell him that he had him in his footy card collection and that he was his favourite player.
Trust the process.

Did you notice any cheers to the Port result from the Crows players.
