A month ago, yes. Mumford is a man mountain that gives the kids added confidence running around the paddock, he is a massive out for them but also I think it could be a blessing in disguise.
All of these kids are going to have an extra dozen games in them during some tough times, it will mean they'll have a pleasant draw again next season where they can really make a genuine attack on being a top four side.

On the couch has rated the draws of the clubs.

Doesn't bode well for Port Adelaide, and North, Richmond and the Bulldogs look like they might be in for September action.

Their run home is

Gold Coast A
Geelong H
Essendon H
Brisbane A
Carlton A
Melbourne A
St Kilda H
Fremantle H
Bulldogs H
Richmond A

I would have that as 6 wins, 1 Loss and 3 50/50 for the run home.

That would give them 12 wins without he 50/50 games which probably won't be enough this year, so the games against Geelong, Bulldogs and Richmond will be crucial

We'll win at least 8 of them.

I would be more worried about the way they played, not just that they lost. They are far from a top 4 side, and will struggle to make the eight if they continue to put in performances like they did on the weekend.

No doubt. They did this a couple of times last year also.
We switch off mentally too often. Having said that, the month leading up to this bad loss had been good with wins against West Coast who are flying, admittedly a depleted GWS & we outplayed Sydney for 3 qtrs where bad kicking cost us in the end.

agree, but the difference between a half decent side and a very good side is they win their fair share of those games, and they dont get smacked against the bottom teams.

The race for finals is getting more and more interesting, as there are so many teams in that mid table that can beat anyone on their day but are also prone to lapses

Yep, 3 close losses in a row will kill you. If west coast win this weekend they would almost have it sewn up
