Generally it does appear that numbers are down from the figures provided. The question has to ne asked, even if the AFL teams are removed, has the damage that has been done tol great to recover from?

I believe so, but it gives the comp a chance to find a real niche in the community, which it can't while compromised.

I check the scores out of Glenelg matches
I still have an interest in how the club does caused by knowing some involved.

however, my winter is no-longer revolved around when the Tigers are playing and I have moved on to other hobbies/interests. no longer is my week moods determined by the last round results and the upcoming fixtures.

if the AFL clubs were removed from the comp, than I would be more inclined to go and watch on a Friday night or even a sunday arvo.

I have had free tickets come my way, which I have passed on to those who will use them. But they themselves only go a couple of times a year as it is.

The comp needs to go to 8 teams.

everyone plays eachother 3 times.

I want a return to the pre-season comp

bring back double headers

This is what needs to happen, one game home, one game away and one game at Adelaide Oval as a double header or a country game here and there in the home clubs designated area.

Caught the end of a discussion on MMM this arvo with someone from the SANFL regarding the Magarey and Hal Of Fame nights being joined together.... they the discussed the crowds and the dude from SANFL (sorry cant remember who it was) stated that the following clubs crowds were up this year Sturt, Glenelg, Norwood and Central...

Is that actually correct? I cant see that Central's crowds are up at all...

I heard that aswell. Was than Parkinson clown. Said the Crows and Port crowds are disappointing and not what the league expected but its balanced out by other clubs Sturt, Norwood, West, Glenelg and Central having higher averages than last year. They just wont admit they got it wrong

Crowd stats based on the figures that I have, which have been sourced from here and elsewhere and may not be accurate. Caveat emptor.

These are sorted in (official) premiership table order by default. recs is the number of records I have for that team. std is standard deviation. The other labels should be self explanatory.

Just for the hell of it, crowds in matches between dinkum SANFL clubs:

(edit) Comparing these tables with those in the previous post it appears that the mean crowds in 2015 for 7 of the 8 SANFL clubs are higher when games against interlopers are excluded. In other words, The interlopers are dragging down the attendance at almost every SANFL club,

It extremely obvious Crows and Power members don't care where their reserves team play both clubs have more than 60,000 members and barely any of them attend the reserves games.

Perfect weekend for footy too.
The SANFL has been very lucky with the weather this year.
Dryest June in 7 years, beautiful July weekend just gone.

Been the best season for weather I can remember ever in Adelaide. Has there been anymore commentary from the SANFL CEO regarding these disgraceful numbers?

Understand that is why it's this weekend, but question why they would do it? Gets them a cheap corporate box for the Adelaide Cup maybe?
