Too right, it should be a great game.

Woollen guernseys, bogged grounds, swigs of port and ciggies being lit up at half time, pre-season starting in March (at the end of cricket season), coaches being appointed on the basis they turned up pre season and had "credentials", blokes passing out in changerooms after the game, blokes sleeping in cars in the car park or rocking up to Sunday sessions in the same clothes they left in, "the green room" being the most occupied room in the house, game plans being "kick it long", coaches telling you you were no good and the reasons why in front of your teammates, and black footy boots.

That's what I remember of footy in that era.

That was "playing footy" ;). AFL footy in the early to mid 90's especially week in, week out was outstanding to watch.

The reason I started smoking was because I saw Roger Delaney having a ciggy at half time of a league game for Port Adelaide in the change rooms in Port Lincoln while getting a rub down!! Thought it must be good for you!!

Here's the Weekly Round Up for Division 4:

Kilburn's favourite son, living legend, Fullback of the Century and God among men, Andrew Graham, also made an appearance:

My first senior game in 03 consisted of most of the above. It was a C grade game.

- woolen guernseys
- ciggies at half time
- boggy ovals
- didnt see any of the blokes at training

Heard 3rd hand info as I played in the C's but a bit of controversy in the Heccies v Kenilworth clash? Heard scoreboard called it a draw however the goal umpires had Kenilworth by 1 point?

correct lk the umpire asked for the time keepers scorecard as well that must have had the kooks by a point as one goal umpire had a draw and the other had kooks by a point ! great comeback by heccies after being 33 points down at 3qtr time!

Speaking of goal umpires, interesting event at NH today. Kilburn up by 6 points with a couple of minutes left. NH player kicks a goal from approx a metre out. Kilburn goal umpire calls it a point saying that player was over the line[emoji85] Almost a riot before umpire who was about 5 metres away overruled the umpire and awarded the goal. Said goal umpire looking for a large rock to hide under after being caught out blatantly cheating.
