EAGLES
Woodville-West Torrens has added a consistent pair of midfielders to its 23-man squad to face South at Maughan Thiem Hyundai Oval on Saturday.
Reserves ball magnets Joe Sinor and Matt Appleton have been added to the hosts’ five-man interchange bench, which must be trimmed by two before the bounce.
The duo collected 51 disposals between them in the club’s Reserves victory against Glenelg last Sunday, prompting recognition from senior coach Michael Godden.
Former Magpies defender Aseri Raikiwasa has been named at full-forward for the Reserves.

He could. Is it a day game?

Nick Liddle is expected to miss 5-6 weeks after scans revealed he requires surgery on the ankle he injured against Norwood, breaking his streak of 116 consecutive games for South.

Yes Liddle a big loss; lets hope he can get back on track as soon as possible. Always loved the way this guy goes about it, belted from pillar to post by a tagger most weeks, he shows great courage and his skills are exquisite. The other thing I like about the guy is his commitment to the club over 100+ games. Despite receiving offers to shift to other clubs over many years hes remained faithful to the Panthers.
Unlike a few others over the years he hasnt looked for the exit door when things were getting a bit tough....... he makes a commitment, says hes staying- he stays...... 8)

Bloody good effort from Liddle. North would be happy if we could someone with 6 consecutive games let alone 116

This game should reveal if South are pretenders or not. A win would see South as the team to fear come the finals.
Eagles get another chance to have a look at some kids which is a bonus for later on in the season.

Yeah fair call, cant say we are playing great footy. Still have a fair bit of confidence we will be okay once finals start. After all, we've shown we can win flags, other teams until they do, will be questioned.

Serious question. McGregor has been poor the last 3 weeks. Are teams playing him differently? Or is he just not getting it?

In a poor game the umpiring was substandard today for both sides. The way the Eagles played today they were lucky to win. Don't know how to kick the ball, just handball happy. Not premiership winning standard.

Hayes best game for the year today no doubt.

Thought in the last few weeks he has been really lucky to hold his spot given strong competition from players in the reserves.

But today he played a great game and took some amazing marks, handling the ball like it was a dry day. Best on Ground for mine.

Jackson Press definitely shows something as well.
