FFS Starc, any chance of hitting the pitch. Nevill having to dive infront of first slip to take them

Yep, the players should be embarassed by that pea hearted effort. Hopefully Boof gives them a massive serve and changes it up for Trent Bridge

I have not missed a Test match for Australia since I was probably 6. Going on 35 years.

Statistics may make this statement look silly but I don't remember an Australian 4,5 and 6 doing less in a game. 6 dismissals without any form of contribution and some muppet like shots and no wickets.

Shaun Marsh for Mitch would be my first change.
My other change would be Burns for Voges but as he is not there then it has to be and I can't believe I'm writing this...Shane
FFS get Clark back at 5 were he was the best in the world. He is a million miles away from that but surely it's worth a crack. If he is good enough he will get out of this slump next test.
The other change is I would drug Siddle and do a knee transplant on Rhino and get him back

Win or draw next test or the Ashes are England's and no test has looked like going the distance. Need a huge turn around next test or the unwashed masses are going to get rowdy.

Yeah hopefully we can bounce back, we just have to have hope. Obviously more is needed from the f**king middle order, ffs they pissed me off. This is more embarrassing than the first test defeat.

We're definitely good enough to win the next two tests and the Ashes, just need to pull our f**king fingers out.

Really enjoying the development of Nevill, being very conventional I feel very confident watching him bat unlike Haddin, who is preparing to throw it away at anytime searching for quick runs. Glovework has been pretty easy on the eye and he doesn't look out of place in the side.

While he was scratchy it was good to see Warner go out, back himself and play his natural game in the second innings even though we were in deep shit.

It was also good to see Starc make some runs, he can bat! But his bowling was very poor and erratic in this test. Lyon bowling well and so is Mitch. Hazelwood down but not too bad.

The bowlers aren't the issue at the moment, time for the batsman to stand up in these next two tests, show some some f**king ticker, work hard and retain these Ashes!

Well done England, obviously showing more ticker than us. Interesting that Ian Bell while in a huge formslump is promoted to number three then scores some runs, shows he is a good player and probably their most dangerous Batsman now. Anderson injured is a huge blow!! Great for Australia, he killed us and was the matchwinner in this test.

West Indies v Australia Perth 1984-85. Bowled out for 76 in the first dig and under 200 I think in the second. That was facing Holding, Marshall, Walsh and Garner on the faster track in world cricket mind you.

I remember that test well and the series. That's when Kim cried. Dutchy and Bents spin us to victory in the fifth. Hughes, Border, Yallop. Hughes made 37 in the second dig. He would then become Big Birds bunny. The series after the big 3 retired when we beat the Pakis 2-0

Either way though yes, similar F all output from 4-6 in that test.

Amazingly, Lyth is set to play in the fourth test:

http://www.espncricinfo.com/the-ashes-2 ... 05525.html

In his 10 test innings, he has scored 107, 37, 24, then nothing more than 12.

Keep him in the side for the rest of series I say! Easy wicket for us
