Good to see the worst/most biased Speaker in Australian history is on her bike.

Take her super entitlements away from her too!

and this pearler: “It has been a very difficult day for Bronwyn Bishop and I think we should respect the fact that it has been a very difficult day for her,” said Mr Abbott.

difficult day? because you have been caught with your hand in the till? brought it all on herself, and i sincerely hope this does bring about reform in their entitlements. maybe they can join us in the heavy lifting....

also, did anyone else assume her resignation was delivered via helicopter??

She's just been taking the piss and had disgraced the parliament long enough with her behaviour.

Her 'political love child' certainly took long enough to get rid of her.

The issue is also she doesnt believe she has done anything wrong. That is what he resignation has said, for the love of Parliament. Really she needs to ba up a bit and say yep I stuffed up and as such stepping down. But it just shows how much power she has in the Liberal party as the PM still wont say she has done anything wrong. Just the arrogance to allow this to go on for so long and still believe they were in the right just shows where the country is at.

As I said before the media tasted blood and they wont stop digging now. Who knows when it will end.

So now we have a government in choas, which has lost its speaker and lost its way.

So now the age on entitlement is over.

So now its time for the heavy lifting to begin.

Seems having "the grown ups in charge" also involves bad cases of amnesia. So when exactly is this "good government" going to start that we've been promised?

Weren't we promised no surprises......I'm pretty sure the Prince Phillip debacle, and Bronny appointed & being way out of her depth, weren't what the public were expecting

This Government has massively underperformed..in a similar way to the previous Labor Govt did, although most people wouldn't have had high expectations for Rudd/Gillard anyway.

The ALP would want Abbott to remain as PM, however for the good of the country it would be good to see the backbenchers following through and installing Turnbull.

As I have said the media have sensed the blood in the water and its on now. Tony Abbott is asked about his $10k trio to Tamworth. Ruddock the next speaker has a expense claim of $8.8k for a trip with his wife.

Like I said the FOI at the department of finance must be mental at the moment as be media is digging now and its likely they will all be shown to have there noses in it.

Joes biggest problem was that he didnt see and issue with it.

Maybe his wife actually treats him as a tenant.
