Reading a report on the death of a six week old girl in NSW- throat slit by her mother.

THIS deserves capital punishment, not 2 ringleaders of a drug syndicate.

The sad news of the death of 80's wrestling icon and 'They Live' star Rowdy Roddy Piper at just 61.

NSFW, little bit of swearing but one of the best fight scenes ever.

I really enjoyed his wrestling character as a kid growing up.

I'm going to have to watch John Carpenter's sci-fi classic again tonight to pay my respects.

I think you mean on this day 70 years ago :)

But yes, it is incredible just how many people can lose their lives in one fell swoop.

I visited there in 2002 and saw the memorial...lasting memory was hearing this yank screaming "We did not do what they are saying we did!"

Watching on Facebook a female friend slowly losing the plot, I've seen it coming like a storm on the horizon and have tried to help without being too intrusive or setting myself up to get too caught up in it all. I now fear for her well being.

I don't really know any of them, it's a tough one, I try to be there for my friends but it can backfire and blow up in my face, especially where women are concerned. She sort of takes my offerings as advances and thinks that I'm pursuing something more than just friendship, I think because she's very attractive most blokes are always keen for a shot.

You've just gotta love a child's perception on life through what they read and hear.

The day after Phil Walsh died I was dreading picking my 10 year old son up after school on the Friday, he walked out of his mum's house and usually makes a stupid face at me or walks like an idiot and comes out with something stupid once he gets in the car, he had the sad puppy dog eyes on this day.
He gets in the car and says "It sucks what happened to Phil Walsh hey dad?"
"Yeah mate, sometimes bad things happen in this world"
"But it was his son, how could he do that to his dad?"
"I know mate, unbelievable, I don't know what to say"
"If he was that mad at him, why couldn't he just ban him from going into his room?"

It's been a pretty hard couple of years for us and he's had to learn to deal with death recently through my dad passing, then Phil Hughes who was his favourite player and then the Phil Walsh one which is beyond comprehension, I think it's brought a lot of fathers and sons closer together.

If only everyone in the world saw life as a 10 year old.

last night on twitter so a tweet saying "shots fired during a live cross"

opened the link, started watching the video expecting to hear a few gun shots in background, nothing more
instead it was the footage of the news reporter and cameraman being shot

the audio was worse than the video, terrible terrible stuff.

and the guy who did it was wearing a go pro, wtf man

Yeah, saw that on the news this morning. He was a disgruntled former employee

and the stupid Americans still won't do anything about gun control

Yes they jump on the "guns done kill people, people do" or "they were un armed, if they had guns......." arguments.

Hes a thought if nutters couldnt get hands on guns would this improve the issue?

I would suggest its a chance.

The refugee crisis in Europe at the moment. The news today about the family of the mother 5 year old and 3 year old boys washing up on shores of Turkey after there boat capsized at sea. It was believed they were trying to get to Greece.

The images on the toddler face down in the sand will stay with me for a while and its all so very sad.

But thats only one story and perhaps thats he most worrying thing of all.

Very sad, seeing that lifeless body of the 3 year old boy lying on the beach.

What did he ever do wrong to deserve that ! :(

Its things like that that hopefully make politicians of both sides in our country realise that these are human beings we are shipping off to prisons in third world countries, not faceless dole bludging terrorists as they are made out to be.

Hopefully it can be used as a catalyst for more compassionate policies, but I highly doubt that.

My thoughts exactly. So very sad, heart breaking in fact.

It turns out they were kurds in a boat where 12 others drowned.

Just an innocent little boy who had nothing to do with war and issues back in Syria.
