Talk on the national game

Carlton 2015

Postby bennymacca » Thu Aug 06, 2015 10:36 am

Was more talking in terms of the list. Crows are pretty obviously closer to finals footy than carltons. Nobody wants to get belted in their first season as coach

And watching a lot of the Melbourne footy shows like 360 and on the couch, to say that the Carlton job would have less scrutiny is a fallacy imo

It's a good point. We'll never know if Primus could be a successful senior coach as his card is marked as "Do not employ". Was it his coaching or the list he had?

He did a lot of good work, got games into the Boak, Pittard, Lobbe etc age group and didn't get to reap the rewards. The next Carlton coach will be in the same boat.

Yep. Unless you buck the trend and significantly improve like Bulldogs and st Kilda, I think you are up against it. Leppitsch will be doing well to be the coach of Brisbanes next finals appearance. Even Paul Roos has copped a bit for Melbourne not improving as much as expected. Also think about how guy McKenna was shafted

LOL. Croweaters are a funny lot. Adelaide a small town? Just done some research (albeit on Wiki) and Adelaide has San Francisco covered by half a million people. Is San Francisco or Dallas or Boston a small town? All with a smaller population than Adelaide. If we compare apples with apples Adelaide is the 5th biggest 'town' in Australia.

The big problem with SA and Adelaide is they worry too much about Melbourne and sometimes Sydney too much. Rest assured they aren't worried about Adelaide. Screw Sydney and Melbourne and especially Brisbane. Adelaide rocks.

Perhaps the only small town thing about Adelaide is the inferiority complex of some that live there. Oops. sorry, Carlton thread. **** they are shit! Play on. :)

Well I won't be commenting any further on non-SA based sides then.

My previews will be written quicker!

LOL. Didn't mean too. Not having a go at anyone just an observation about how we think and feel about ourselves. I still consider myself a South Australian and I've been in Qld for ten years now.

Been dropped this week for discipline reasons. Has talent but is lazy and lacks heart at times. Change of club needed, Eagles would be a good fit

I'd rather him then Jetta. Defends better and isn't scared of contact. Plus he popped Chapman that time, I found that enjoyable.

Pies will win comfortably.
Carlton have eyes on pick 1 or 2, serves them no purpose to win again this season. They would be hoping the Suns leapfrog them also

Late first round or early second round. Reckon he's gone. Good in a good side. Doesn't work hard enough and goes missing.

Pies cant even beat Melbourne, if Buckley has lost the players, they'll continue to shrivel until he gets sacked

Carlton surely furious and smell blood, blues in a canter

If Carlton win it pretty much stops them finishing bottom 2, they are strongly after Weitering and a win would almost certainly cost them getting him.
Lions will take Schache at number 1
