Wouldn't it be in Freo's best interests to throw this game?
Ideally they'd rather face a West Australian team at the MCG in the grand final rather than a Victorian one. The travelling to WA for the lead up finals would also be wearing on potential opponents. Freo also has games in hand, they could be resting up a bit for a reinvigorated attack come finals time.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Freo could still finish 3rd so why would it be in their interest to drop it?
Hawks will win their remaining 3 games and West Coast could win all their remaining games. Freo no certainty to win more than 1 of their last 3

WCE will still need to beat the Bulldogs at home next week which is shaping as a great match up and the Crows the week after in Adelaide to keep the Hawks at bay

They have kangaroos away, Melbourne at home, then Port away. I guess two of those are loseable.
If West Coast lose today, the Hawks definitely take second, win and they hang onto it for one more week at least.
I reckon that Freo would choke at the MCG vs a Victorian side on grand final day. And I think they'll still finish top even if they lose today.
It might sound crazy but this could be the loss that wins them the flag.

Freo are not chance IMO in playing in the GF this year they have no forwards capable of really hurting good sides in the finals race PAv looks like he is struggling big time Walters is in and out of games to much the best one on one forward is prob fyfe and he is needed elsewhere.. I'm still not convinced on the eagles yet albeit they do play a attractive brand of footy..

Freo got a heap of 50/50s. A lot of the frees WC got were Silvangi panicking against Kennedy.

If they finish top and play the dogs or swans at home they will win, then have to play hawthorn or west coast at home in a prelim.

My money would be on a freo hawthorn grand final still

Not sold? They are doing this without a backline. Hawks are the bench mark, but we are not far away.

West Coast have touched up Sydney, now touched up Freo & really should've beaten Hawthorn. Nic Nat to come back and yet they are still being doubted to beat the Dogs & Crows let alone give the flag a shake? Give me a spell. This lot are the real deal - more resilience than any team in the comp.
Second spot is theirs if they want. WB in Perth this week, yes they're going well (at Etihad albeit) but get them on Subiaco and it may be a different story. The Crows the following week in Adelaide who still haven't beaten anyone of note yet.
The Eagles are in it up to their necks.

Eagles are good but nowhere near the Hawks. Hawks havnt hit top gear yet, only foxing ATM.
