Sledge on. :D

BANG!!
I have to admit, I really liked the way St Paul's went about it. They were very physical - much more than us - and really put the acid in the game. They'll be successful if they keep that core group together.

But I did have a bit of chuckle to myself when at 3/4 time one of their leaders was grabbing his guernsey and yelling "for this lads!! do it for this!!" - errr, you mean the carbon copy of the Glenelg/Richmond strip which you've worn for 12 months? Really? I like the spirit but would've taken a different angle perhaps...[/quote]

Did hear this also from someone that was there. He indicated that the Mitchell Park 3/4 time huddle were quite methodical in their preparation for the last term, but the other huddle contained a lot of Tarzan chest Pumping Ra Ra Raaaaing. He also said that it was quite humerous and felt the game was over

Yeah Shane, Tom and the rest of the leadership and coaching group are all very calm, relaxed and methodical. Especially in public view. Like most clubs we have our quarter time, half time and three quarter time routine and plans. There was a bit of a gee up before the game from the one and only Yank Man though!

It's fine if that's what they want to do and if they thought that works for them, then great, just thought the reference to playing for the guernsey was odd all things considered. Would've maybe gone down the - play for your mates, lets establish our own history, lets make something our own sort of route personally.

Maybe he was a St Paul's old scholar, don't the school wear the same/similar guernseys?
They did when I played them as a kid.

That reminds me of their Round 1 game. I was watching the B-Grade game and there was this player who, every time he kicked a goal, ran over to his crowd and grabbed and pointed at his guernsey. Was hilarious.

I hope it wasn't a rather tall midfielder type with a shoe lace around his head to keep his flowing locks out of his eyes and a terrible coy fish quarter sleeve tattoo who likes leading into packs with elbows.

That person was happy sending off our has-been-washed-up-misfit B Grade with taunts of playing finals when they rolled us in the second last game of the year. Which was met with much confusion by a large portion of our side that were only there as fill in's and last minute call ups.

I'm old and can't remember back that far in detail. He was tall and skinny and lippy.

From memory his name was hausler or something along those lines. Kicked 4 goals that day in the two's. We were about 5 goals up not long to go and then he kicked his 4th and the celebration was like he just slotted the winner after the siren. Bit different i must say.

Ah yes. Heusler.

He has also somehow played a game for Pooraka C4 in June and then again in August. Figure out how that works!

There are some good lads out there, and we haven't had any serious problems at all. But there is definitely an Old Scholar element of entitlement to some of their players... remind me a bit of SHOC in that regard.

Yeah but each club has their own unique culture and "personality". The Old Collegiate sides are a unique beast.

Hahaha that would be Brandon "Susan or Ballsack" Walscak. The only player in the history of the game to have missed a week because of a pimple.

Really looking forward to this weekend games, hoping our b grade can get the job done and make it to the big dance also.

Adelaide Uni, Mitchell Pk prelim will be a cracker, i reckon its a 50/50 game even tho Uni have accounted for them everytime and with reasonable margins. But i feel that Mitchell Pk are a physical team and the one thing i think uni are vulnerable to is hard tackling and relentless pressure on the ball carrier. We hit them hard all day and our tackling was the best ive seen all season and was one of the reasons we pulled away coz we never gave them a chance to ran and carry and link up. Our backline did a great job stopping forward entries all day.

I think this topic deserves a thread all its own.
I remember a player missing a game when I was a younger because his girlfriend's goldfish had died.
