How credible is this Priddis thing? Can't find anything really on it

I'm done. First Griffen subbed, then Hamling didn't offer much in place of Hodge, now I trade in Mundy for Fyfe but he cops the Vince tag.

Congratulations Has Been. You had a great side and trades in your pocket. My luck ran out this week and not much went right after nailing the VC on Pendles unfortunately.

Cheers Q.........Had some bloody dud efforts which cost me my work GF but enough to get up in 2 out of 3. Hard this time of year when selection plays such a big part.

Thanks for another top year Reb. You do an amazing job. I only know 1 or 2 blokes in the Hogg but its the first league I check the results in.

Q, at least you are making them ;)

I'm struggling to get past the first or second week of the finals recently

You need to get that good run through your upgrade period so you (1) have a great side but (2) have those essential late trades to cover inevitable holes in the last 4-5 rounds.

By "good run" I don't just mean luck with injuries, although that is important. It's just as important to have a good run of judgment with who you upgrade in.

That league win strategy is probably why the top Hogg leagues struggle to go deep into the top 100. I know I'm happy to take a bit of a scoring hit early on to have trades in the bank and come steaming home by bringing in form players.

Agree with Hondo's good run comments. I trade aggressively but I stick to some simple rules:

- Stick with keepers (eg Newnes/Hibered) - saves you trades at the end. They look bad in rnd 5 but by the time you get them to your 5th/6th/7th spot they're OK
- Trade into players who are good value - go for under $500k in fwds/def ($450k is better) and $550k in mids - saves you trades and you don't do your dough on those upgrades that undoubtedly fail. The mid pricer/under priced premium strategy works much better when you implement it during the season than it does with your starting squad

Nothing earth shattering there.........its sticking to it that's hard
