Only a short one unfortunately we kept getting raped by the AFL and couldnt keep it going. You guys were blessed to have a group that stayed together all those years. You didnt seem to have the turn over that clubs face now and thats a credit to your club. The AFL will come in and pick the bones from the SANFL clubs again this year

I think you will find that Central had a fairly big turnover of players during our dynasty too - there were 62 different premiership players during that era. I doubt that Norwood went anywhere near that.

Cheers

62 differant players over a 7 year period, we have used 40 in 3 years. We only have 6 guys who played in all 3.
I may be wrong but it seems with the addition of the 2 new AFL sides a lot more mature age players are being pinched from state leagues now.
Centrals had a remarkable period which under the current climate I cant see being repeated

Style is terrible this year no doubt but that wouldnt stop me going. The reserves debacle has contributed greatly to my lack of passion and will eventually lead to my non attendance. If Port had won it last year I would of walked then

Yep, that was about the size of it. Allied to that, thought Norwood were arrogant in the first half of the 2nd when they had all the play and seemed to think it was just all going to happen.

Yep, the two new sides have had an affect, even youngsters that may not have otherwise been drafted. The one difference being it was around the start of Centrals dynasty that AFL clubs got rid of their reserves and lists were reduced to 38. But it was the same for all clubs.
Wonder if, now the Victorian clubs have got their own VFL teams, whether it is harder to recruit players from Victoria because top-up players can play under the close eye of an AFL team?

Who might the Legs be able to get back from the AFL next year? Fuller? Fantasia? Even Gorringe?

Just signed a 2 year extension at Essendon and is really rated by all at the club.
Would be top 5 on the ground today so far.
Would think Terlich and perhaps Gorringe

That's good, wasn't sure because was surprised he hadn't played more this year given the Don's problems, but now realize he's been injured.

Was playing really well at VFL level but unfortunately got injured in his second league game and missed about 6 weeks

2 goals at half time and 4 for a game is woeful . What a boring style and I'm glad Norwood lost as that does nothing for our game. I appreciate Norwood have lost a lot of players but all clubs do ........to the AFL or otherwise . Come on Ben Warren what is your game ?
Good news for Dog fans as Butcher is an in for Port next week.

Well done Central against probably the 8th best side in the competition, saw this coming weeks ago.
We still need a big forward & a decent ruckman though.

Where's the "Bumper Crowd"?
3 of the top supported Clubs playing & they get 8K - says it all really.
So sad :(

The Show & Father's Day clearly played a role in such a low attendance but...
If the Grand Final is a repeat of the Second Semi - we could get our 1st sub 15K Grand Final attendance - even with all the free tickets the SANFL will no doubt give out. An Eagles v West Grand Final is the worst case scenario for the SANFL :(
