post ? Not sure

I can see the arguement some people bring to the table over the one off 12,000 that the government is allowing , yet thousands australians are homeless on the streets. Why allow this amount in 700 million to be spent, when we could be better suited spending that 700 million on housing the homeless and helping the out of work and struggling families of Australians citizens
.
Yet i can also see the arguement that we should be helping these refugees .

Its a hard one to choose

Perhaps instead of spending 55 million to send four refugees to Cambodia, he could have spent it on homeless people?

The two topics have nothing to do with each other. There's no reason a government can't act on both at once.

He refuses to talk our country down, yet that's all he did as Opposition Leader. The gall of the man.

Also its not like the homelessness is a new thing. Why havent the government done anything until now?

Why is it only brought up if there is talk of helping others?

Because people have been told to fear refugees by our illustrious leaders.

If he says....we've stopped the boats, or cfmeewe one more time.

Geez I hope nobody votes for this idiot again. I might emigrate to Syria if they do.

^^ how dare you put hate on shoe boys mate Billy boy.

He is a great leader for the labor party. Never stabs his work colleagues in the back, always looks out for his leader when he was not the current leader of that party. Great bloke that one. Announces great polices "if he was leader" or when he belives he will be the PM.

Fantastic alternative to tony abbott for sure. Billy boy will take this country to great heights IF he wins the next election =))

Even when he was here in SA announcing good news he would still go back to blaming the previous government and having a crack. It took away a bit of the positive of what he was saying.

We stopped the boats, yes we get it. Great, how about our piece of shit economy, nation debt, unemployment going north?

That's ok, we stopped the boats and the previous government blah blah blah.

Like come on mate, can you and your government please get down to business now and work on the problems at hand.

... added to that, they didn't even stop the boats. A lot of those who would have otherwise tried to travel to Australia have gone to Europe instead. Our largest numbers of asylum seekers were from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Myanmar. There definitely has been no stopping of boats from the first three of those countries, sadly. In fact, the numbers have increased by a large amount since the 'Stop the Boats' policy.
