Throw in the Powers record and apart from one final series there hasn't been much finals success in the new millennium for the once unbeatable power house

Grand Finals in 04,07, Prelim finals in 02,03,14. Semi Final in 13.

So 10 winning finals and 5 losing since the start of 02. Hmm.....nice try.

Eagles by less than 119 points.

PS Power: 3 minor prenierships, 1 2nd, 1 3rd
Finals record: 11 wins, 11 losses. 1 flag.
Their reserves are even worse!
Must be bad hay fever down Alberton way in September.

Not bad for the 9th worst team in the comp.

Wedgie wrote:Central supporters are kidding themselves if they think they'll take South's spot in the finals.
Easily the 9th worst side in the comp.

They're still our finals bitch this decade though. No one else can stop them.
At least North won more games than the Power played finals ;)

Considering the bottom team was out and out shit, you didn't have to be that great to be the "9th best" in some judges eyes. ;)

I'm not sure what North's relevence is to the topic, wasnt it out of finalists or do we have a new system?
I still think it will be a West v Eagles GF with the Eagklea taking it out and Booney not being surprised at the crowd.

These discussions about the once invincible Port Magpies poor recent finals record just highlights the changing face of the SANFL. As we all know up until the year 2000, one of the four most successful clubs, Port, Norwood, North and Sturt had played in every Grand Final since the inception of the finals series in 1898. This year will be the 8th time in the last 16 years that none of those four have figured in the Grand Final.
