Well done to para hills, too good for us on the day. Our lads threw everything we had at you but it wasn't good enough.

Our boys were shattered with the result, as expected.

I'm standing down as footy director at CLGFC, would of been great to go out with dual flags, but it wasn't to be

How much do we think the 2 clubs playing in the grand final would have spent on players and coaches this year?

Im going to go with $100k for CLG and $70k for PH?

I obviously have no idea, but that would be lunacy if you're even in the ballpark. On the last blind survey there was one club in the League that got anywhere close to those figures. With the new salary cap I'm sure the League will be watching them like a Hawk ;)

Just do the sums, if you're paying $100,000 for the year it means you're paying each person who plays $240 per week, or half the players in the team $500 per week. No one would be, or could afford to do that (short of aforementioned Hawks)

Not really.

Coach - $10k
Assistant - $2k
3x star players on $300/game - $16k
8x good-uns on $200/game - $28k
10x role players on $50/game - $9k
Awards and incentives - $15k
B Grade Coach - $3k

That's over $80k ...

Quite a few I would imagine, especially if they double up and do some work in the A's. Ours got $750 to cover petrol and phone calls.

There's no way any club in D5 has 21 paid players.

Hmmmmmmm....I hope we're not going to go down the same "oh no, that doesn't count as a payment" palaver like very other single time this has been discussed. Also need to be clear around what constitutes a total football budget, in regards to "spend on football" and player payments/incentives.

Why cant we just be adults, get it out in the open and be cool. I will never understand why people get so defensive about this. Would save so much stress and angst.

I'll start.

We "paid" about 5 players this year.

One got about between $100-$150, but had to do much more than just play.
One was moved from interstate, we helped out with some travel costs and job
3x we paid their subs, gave them some shorts and socks. Plus another job.

the question was how much was spent on players and coaches, not total football budget on trainers, etc etc
