Bill Shitten will be next
He's probably been on the phone all night trying to keep his support
Abbott did his job and should never have been PM. Same with Shitten
Neither can string together an intelligent sentence

Will be best remembered for the Sir Prince Phillip debacle.

I generally favour the ALP over the Libs, but Turnbull as PM is quite a good result.

In the communication stakes Abbott hasn't set the bar very high. My auntys cocky was more charismatic and communicated better!
As for Bishop, omg its going to be brutal watching her credibilty get torn apart over this.
All the dramatic performances in Parliament regarding Rudd gillard Rudd fiasco surely must bite her on the ass?
As for malcky, at least he's not in this for employment. He's in it for ego.
Not sure which reason is worse?

shorten will never be gone !. He will be removed as leader of the labor party come christmas. He will then , like the last two times, stab that leader in the back and become labors leader again. We will NEVER see the end of him!

Now let me get this correct , Did Abbot take Turnbull's job then Turnbull took Abbot's job????

And Tony don't blame the media for your pathetic attempted at running this country with no vision , no leadership , incompetent financial policies ,dames and knights, and we could go on you lying dog. But you did stop the boats 8-}

Ok excellent the cirus is over now. Back on with the job. Plenty of problems now so get on with it.

But alas, thats unlikely as the pro Abbott supporters will likely cause a ruckus now and look to destabilize the government.

I'm pretty disappointed that yet another government has decided to oust a PM due to the polls. I get that we elect people to make decisions that need to be made but I just wish the reasoning wasn't because they wanted to win the next election.

But that aside, I wanted to make just a few comments.

I'm certainly not overly impressed with what Abbott achieved in his 2 years. It felt a lot like we made no forword progress, or perhaps more accurately marginal progress, on most issues. Some worked and I hope those remain intact not just for the next year but until there is a need to change rather than a desire to be different. However, I do think the 2 years of this Liberal government outshines the previous 6 under Labor. On that score, the comments about him being the worst PM ever are off the mark. You only have to go back to the bloke before him to find one with a worse record.

My inclination is to favour the mob that doesn't decide to change leaders because of polls (if I have no or little other reason to discern). But sadly that's now a non consideration. Labor can't exactly claim to be any better and I'd be amazed if Shorten led Labor to a 2019 election whichever way the next goes. No way can any reasonable mind (IMHO) entertain serious thoughts of a Greens government. I guess having no faith in a government keeping the leader they indicated would be the PM for the next term makes me feel like we've just lost something.

Regardless, life goes on. Next election in my view is wide open. Turnbull has no runs on the board as PM. Will be fascinating to see what, if any, difference he makes. I'm hopeful but pessimistic that unlike his predecessor people will give him a chance to fail before deeming him bad. He has enough time to show something, but separating his achievements from Abbott's and the position we're in will prove a challenge. On the other side of the fence, Shorten has shown nothing. But he hasn't had a reason to. Best case for me is that he sees this as a long interview. Present an alternative, not just a criticism. Let's see what Labor would do different and who they have ready to take over because right now, it's hard to envisage them doing anything other than what they did from 07-13.

Finally, one thing people seem to have thrown as a criticism of Abbott is that he was uncaring. Personally I think it's the total opposite but the vitriol those same folk who bemoaned a lack of humanity was an ugly shade of hypocrite. Too often we lack respect for our leaders despite the massively difficult job, the crazy hours and demands, the impact on families and the virtual anhiliation of ever having a private life. This despite all going in just to help. Nobody I know of has reason to hate Abbott. Or Rudd. Or Gillard, Or Shorten or any other elected official. Yet we seem to confuse disagreeing with ire. We take personal offense at a decision aimed to be the best for the entire nation. Or even at times, the world. I think that we just need to remember to respect out fellow man (or woman) better.

So Abbott increased spending, increased debt and increased unemployment and you reckon he did a better job? Okay pal.

At the moment, none of them deserve any admiration
It's just all gutter politics with the media just looking for anyone to have a go at
Abbott was right about one thing yesterday - the media
The only smart politicians are those that dont do, or say, anything
After getting rid of Abbott, the media will now be relentless on Turnbull. They have already started
And if Shorten (or any of the others) get elected; they will cop it too

We are going to get nowhere in the next few years, just as we've achieved nothing in the past 8 years

Yet never complained once as Opposition Leader when Gillard was being white-anted by Rudd.
