DTH
It's one thing to change venues on the same day such as what happened on the Sunday of week 1 but already too late to try and switch days for next week. Players, coaches, support staff, would have already made plans with work etc. around what day their team is playing next weekend. And I can assure you that Noarlunga and Brighton won't be moving from a Saturday Preliminary.

Would have thought it would make sense for BDOS to bring their sides from Sunday to Saturday to have the whole club feel and triple your supporters for the day!!

Pretty lame the made plans for the day excuse..

So what are peoples thoughts on the benefits of the week off?? Is it that beneficial??

Both Semis were hard fought in hot weather and Brighton have 1 less day to recover where as Flaggies have 1 extra day to recover.

Six or seven day recovery is a myth at this level and probably more of a myth than reality in the AFL even though coaches try and convince the punters otherwise. 6 days plus travel for both games either side of the 6 days may have some basis in the AFL. We had a "long trip" to Aldinga yesterday so who knows if we will recovery from the extra 10 minutes in the car as opposed to playing elsewhere. ;) The challenge for our lads will be clearing the sand and dirt from their throats after yesterdays epic final that will be remembered as "Sandpit Sunday".

I hear you Vics and agree with the obvious logic - but assuming any swap would not change the current A grade listings - that would mean 16 teams that would be affected by a swap who would have known for 2 weeks what Prelim Final they were in. Even the teams that played the weekend just gone have known what day their Prelim would be for 2 weeks, if they got that far.

The SFL and clubs should have seen a strong likelihood of this coming after the first week of finals and flagged a possible change of Prelim days well before last night and this morning. I believe it won't be changing and I can assure you BDOS had no say in that decision.

I see Ben Coleman has decided not to continue as coach of the Emus for next season.
Any rumors yet of a replacement?

Shoe injury's doing what?? At training? Or maybe wading through the onk in bare feet?? ;) .

Flaggy's would have a few changes I would think.

A. Carey back to NT for cricket!
Appeared a few of Flaggy's big blokes injured last week.
Maybe 3 or 4 changes needed.

Winey's very quiet.. Both Mcentee's playing? should be a cracker game.

there is only nine teams in d3, so this may be a sweetener to get Edwardstown back???

Prelim week end.
At Bice oval Sat
A Grade - Shoes over Bombers
B Grade - Reynella over Bushpigs
18 - Bushpigs over Reynella
16 - Reynella over Bushpigs One of the best 16 sides I have seen for a while.
14-Bushpigs over Reynella

At Porties Sunday
A Grade -Reynella and Flaggies a draw :) after extra time Reynella to expose the soft underbelly of the Bushpig.
B Grade - Valley over Bombers
18 -Being that it is on a Sunday maybe Bombers over Valley
16- Being that it is on a Sunday maybe Bombers over Valley
14- Shoes 118 years with no junior flag could this be the one? Shoes over Valley.

Good luck to all .

No love for our junior teams there shoe boy? Tongue in cheek comment I know, but don't think the Sunday will make any difference.

Saturday:

A Grade - Noarlunga by 12 points
B Grade - Reynella by 26 points
18 - Reynella by 5 points
16 - Reynella by 30 points
14-Bushpigs by 28 points

Sunday:
A Grade -Reynella by 19 points
B Grade - Valleys by 12 points (not in great form, but will get the job done)
18 -Valleys by 1 point (wishful thinking)
16- Valley by 21 points
14- Valley by 18 points

Now I've restored the love.....

Not sure where you are going with that one Shoe Boy. And no love for any of our teams AFC9798 although granted that 3 of our 4 Prelims are against the Vikings.

Weather looks perfect for a great weekend of footy. Light winds forecast for tomorrow so hopefully the September wind at Bice Oval isn't too bad. Might depend on how much hot air is coming out of LGIL. :) Sunday forecast is for stronger winds which will add an extra element to the games at Porties.

Correct weight DTH. I won't back against them, but most nervy about the 18's game. Should be a good day. In A Grade, think it will be close, have a lot of respect for the way your boys have played this year, but Noarlunga have so many options. Good luck.
