Such an intriguing match-up, pity there won't be a huge crowd. Last ten years we've known what we're going to get - Centrals or Norwood scoring 10-12 goals and then see whether the opposition can match it.

We could be a game like all those previous GF's and last week. Or the Eagles winning by miles, something like 18 goals to 7. Or a close first half and then West getting on top through desparation and inspiration in the late in the third and early in the last and winning 15 to 10.

So much rests on those senior blokes who have been great servants of Westies coming back in. Fielke and Hill you think'd be right after a week off with concussion, Silverlock and Hartlett less so.

Yeah, if Hartlett doesn't come up. Can see Eagles having 11-12 goals at 3/4 time and kicking a few junk-time goals.

Actually that is a fair call. We do play a very similar style as our main game plan. As a result, we rarely kick big scores. However, if things aren't going according to plan Godden has shown the ability to revert to a more attacking style and we do have the firepower up there that can certainly carry this out. If Hartlett doesn't come up I can see either Wundke or Ainger (whoever he usually stands) kicking a bag.

Rowntree and Pooles injuries are huge for the eagles. We have surplus outside midfielders in the reserves but not many strong inside midfielders (which both Rowntree and Poole are). Appleton will come in but he is a very different type of player and not a huge possession getter. I think Godden will then have to decide whether to bring in another midfielder - perhaps Rowland - or else go with Thurlow which will change the dynamic. The latter plan (Thurlow) might actually be worthwhile seeing Borholm struggled against West a fortnight ago.

I think whoever wins will do so within three goals so I am tipping a close match.

Heart says West break the 32 year drought.

Head says Eagles by 1-39.

I still think they will get 25,000 there next weekend. All the under 20K doom and gloomers will be eating the same humble pie as last year when they said they won't get 25 and 38,000 plus watched a cracking GF. It's going to be a ripper of a contest, personally I can't wait. 8)

Got 38k last year due to a couple of factors. First year back at AO and about 30k were Norwood supporters.
Cant see it being under 20k this year, more likely to be 25-28k.
Two best sides of the year are playing off and thats all you can ask for in a GF.
Not too fussed who wins it

I think your estimate is slightly off but I don't want to be too critical... 28,467 ;)

Expect a close hard fought game. The outs for Westies and the Eagles firepower will get them over the line...... Just
WWT by 10-15 points in a decent scoring game.

I hope they get a good crowd because if they don't you can be sure Rucci will write an article about how SANFL fans have deserted 'pure' SANFL clubs. It's all he's been banging on about. Hopefully Dangerfield announces his decision this week to distract him.

I will go if I can talk one of my friends into going.

Thats true about Rucci but in saying that it will be a cracking game. The best 2 going at it. What more can you ask for in a gf.

A massive crowd?

You am I and Norths reserves might get another 10k to the game at least.
