Things certainly have changed. The Whitlam era was probably indirectly responsible for the swing to the right for the ALP that started with the Hawke government, that recognized the electorate is inherently conservative and took a more measured approach to reform. It's impossible to change anything if you can't stay in government. Yes Murdoch did turn on Whitlam in 1975, but from memory he also urged the election of Hawke in 1983?

But still gets a few kicks in for Gillard and Rudd and, oh ... still raving on about 'illegal' boats, climate warmists, and the Labor's debt and deficit disaster.

He hates Turnbull because he (Turnbull) agrees with 99.9% of the scientific community about climate change. and thinks that Bishop isn't a serious contender because her current job is too easy and becoming PM would be a step too far.

Unfortunately Ltd News stick Bolt's column in the Thurs paper these days so I learned last week that the whole Essendon drug scandal was really just a Labor Party stunt.

"It is frightening that such political interference could happen with barely a word of protest from sports administrators and many journalists."

"In fact the real scandal was that Labor used state power to demand crooks be found when no crime had been committed. And it nearly worked."

I think Bolt's just about done.

Does anyone know how Bolt's TV show is going? I reckon I noticed it was on at 4pm on Sunday afternoon, competing for ratings against local tourism shows and a Jerry Lewis movie re-run.

Mind you, he's lasted longer than Alan Jones' foray into TV - anyone remember his attempt at 'talk-back democracy' in 1994 (IIRC)? :-Q
