On trade radio it was mentioned Dangerfield plus pick 14 for Cockatoo and pick 9. Doesnt sound right to me, only a 5 spot upgrade

Would have thought the Crows have more area's of pressing concern than Cockatoo could help them with, in say the next 3 years.

Ball winning midfielders look in short supply when by 2017 they could be without Dangerfield and Thompson, and couldn't have a heap of faith in B. Crouch's body.

Did cockatoo play much through the midfield at Geelong?

Would have thought he was more a small forward, which is one area where we are strong.

A deal like the above might be possible if we technically don't match Geelongs offer and we also get the compo pick?

So then we get compo pick, 9 and a player for our first rounder and Dangerfield.

Still reckon that's a bit light for the crows though

You won't be getting anything under "light" so I'd take Cockatoo and 9 as a starter, then push for a second rounder next year as the kicker.

Yeah, why trade picks?!

Pick 9 + Cockatoo sounds fair on it's own.

I don't think Crows fans are gonna be anywhere near satisfied with what they're gonna get for Dangerfield.

Trading Danger for pick 9...unders big time for Crows
Trading pick 14 for Cockatoo...break even or slightly better deal on that one for Crows

not just a 5 pick upgrade but not much better

of course, the players have all the power in this scenario, which sucks.

Imo danger would be worth at least two first rounders and a decent player, but we wont be getting that.

Talk the Tigs might give up Lennon in the deal for Yarren, I would be very disappointed if this was to happen!

Didnt the crows and Geelong swap some picks last year for no 'apparent' reason? Maybe its now making sense?

No, the crows swapped picks because they knew they could still get lever at the lower pick so it made sense to upgrade their second pick

it probably does point to some sort of goodwill between the two clubs though, that a deal like this could get done

It was hardly goodwill. From memory the trade went like

Crows gave up pick 10 for 14
Crows gave up pick 43 for 35

Break even if not Geelong slightly up

its a win for the crows given they would have taken lever at 10 anyway (or potentially breakeven if they could have gotten wigg at 43, which I have no idea about)

By goodwill i meant that this was quite a left field type of trade, which shows the recruiting teams probably have a decent rapport with each other and are both willing to get deals done, if that makes sense.
