On MMM last night Tredrea was saying he heard a strong rumour that an awesome deal has been reached with Geelong for Dangerfield. Their first round pick plus a decent player. Didn't mention a name though. Guess we'll see shortly

On trade radio it was mentioned Dangerfield plus pick 14 for Cockatoo and pick 9. Doesnt sound right to me, only a 5 spot upgrade

Would have thought the Crows have more area's of pressing concern than Cockatoo could help them with, in say the next 3 years.

Ball winning midfielders look in short supply when by 2017 they could be without Dangerfield and Thompson, and couldn't have a heap of faith in B. Crouch's body.

Did cockatoo play much through the midfield at Geelong?

Would have thought he was more a small forward, which is one area where we are strong.

A deal like the above might be possible if we technically don't match Geelongs offer and we also get the compo pick?

Still reckon that's a bit light for the crows though

No, the crows swapped picks because they knew they could still get lever at the lower pick so it made sense to upgrade their second pick

it probably does point to some sort of goodwill between the two clubs though, that a deal like this could get done

Crows gave up pick 43 for 35

its a win for the crows given they would have taken lever at 10 anyway (or potentially breakeven if they could have gotten wigg at 43, which I have no idea about)

By goodwill i meant that this was quite a left field type of trade, which shows the recruiting teams probably have a decent rapport with each other and are both willing to get deals done, if that makes sense.
