Loving Daveys knock.

How tough is Brendan McCullum. I'd have been in a f@cken ambulance

I know it's easy from ye ole armchair but am I the only one who thinks Neil Craig wouldn't cause me too many concerns at the crease.

Admittedly my shape would shift towards the square leg umpire at the other end but I'd back myself against this bloke.

Some of their part timers would struggle to play district cricket. This Neil Craig fella is just a pie chucker

Not much turn for an off spinner on a hard day one pitch.

1/300 with 20 over to go on day one.....I tell you why they start the Test series in November in Brisbane, despite the rain, we seem to always load up on day 1 in Brisbane, which translates to the series, often.

Brisbane will lose the first test if they keep this pathetic attendance up. They really don't deserve a test if they can only get 15k on day 1

Its a good deck but is it that good to produce 2/389 on day 1? I dont think so. It was flat but it had a good green tinge to it, plus the conditions suited some good swing as well. Southee bowled well but only in small patches. Mark Craig bowled very short for an off spinner and **** me Bolt was just awful. He is the main fire brand and he was horrible. Half trackers down leg side. Terrible.

Although its clearly a good deck and Australia batted well, but some really poor bowling by NZ allowed it to get out of hand.

Also some strange captaincy as well. Why give a ball thats 8 overs old to the off spinner who had been getting carted all day? Surely Bracewell or Neesham could of taken it?

I am very keen to see how Starc and Johnson bowl on this deck.

Amazing delivery to a batsmen on 97. A leg side half tracker. Bloody hell, still well done son.

Staying in the same hotel as the Blacks caps. Not sure what the Aussies were like this morning but having breakfast in the same area as NZ, they were just so laid back and didn't really look like they were ready for a test match. Know tonight in the bar area their supporters and they have alot here were pretty pissed off . Some pretty ordinary weather forecast for the next few days but only 2 results possible now after day 1.
You cant change your past but you can sure hell shape you future

Read today's Advertiser 'Brendan McCullum didn't stand up when the heat was on' quote from Ben Horne. Who ever the f**k he is.

Adelaide media never let you down.

Australia had a cracking day of cricket yesterday, Hardly McCullums fault. Bowlers weren't great and McCullums field placements are always and probably will always be a little left field but, Again hardly his fault Australia had a cracking day.

Agree

In saying that though I think McCullum is getting close to being a parody of himself and at times is bordering innovation for the sake of being the 'innovator'
