Agreed. The garden gnome and princess Fiona on "The Block" met on Tinder, not surprised....difficult to meet someone in real life when you're devoid of personality, looks, height etc...

Ahhh, the 90s, the only IT thing we worried about was our 5 & 1/4 inch Floppy Discs.....

And a Hard Drive was gettting back to the suburbs on the back streets from the city at 5:30 am.....

Yep, these kids complaining about "lag" when their game freezes, or stalls while playing "live" on line.

Imagine this, you fire up the Commodore 64, you place the Olympics cassette in the cassette drive, you go outside and play 3 innings of back yard cricket, have a swim, have some lunch and then settle into the chair just in time for it to be loaded.

With apologies to Monty Python...

Commodore 64???? Luxury!!!!
In my day we were lucky to have an atari 2600 which we had to load at 6:30 in the morning half an hour before we woke up, have breakfast, go to school come hme, mow the lawn, wash two cars have dinner, get thrashed by Dad with the days copy of The News, go to bed, get up at 10:30 jsut so we could play Pong for 30 mins.

But we were greatful.....

There are just too many games to choose from with the C64....the Olympics generally killed the joysticks

I set up my own makeshift cockpit for the driving games in particular Scalextrix by getting an old quilt which ran over the top of the monitor and myself to block out any unwanted, unnecessary distractions....

What has the world come to when you have to go online to get a root.

Why can't people go to pubs like we did in the old days?

Upstairs at Joppies was a haven, as was Players

Im sure you could do that still.

But now if you just wanna get it in without spending $100 on entry and drinks, buying prospective roots drinks (only for them to leave with someone else.)

Plus you don't have to risk getting your feelings hurt when approaching someone. You know they're looking for the same thing, they've seen you and seen something they want.

Spend $100 on drinks and interact with someone who you can see, get a sense of them, get to know them or masting off at home looking at a 3 inch picture of someone taken 10 years and 25 kg ago and you don't even know them. Hmmm....I'll be at the bar, thanks.

I do a bit of each: spend $100 at the bar, then go home and mast off.

That's fine on a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

But.....

Nothing beats getting home after a stressful Mondays work, making a nice dinner, cracking a beer and then swiping right to find a worldy who's keen to cap of your night

Wake up the next morning, no awkward goodbyes, no defining the relationship just simply a shower and start your tuesday shift with a smile on the face

I'll bet the old man wasn't that impressed either.
