I wonder if these blokes would still get a kick coming from mallee fl back up to gsfl. Great footballers for a long time... Rigney still quick and phillips still handy but it is a massive step up in standard of competition and cant see them dominating gsfl any where near the way they do out in the mallee

I saw Rigs play this year & he still has his leap but looks 87 years old ;) . The 1 on 1 style of the Gsfl would suit him, plenty of space to create up forward but it is a huge (I mean huge) step up from the Mallee. Still be good for 30 - 40 goals if he can get the supply.

Any players from Valley's heading to the wine region with him?? Talk of pay cuts to current players for 2016 after the club signed Lawrie on 4 figures. Would imagine he's chatting to a few over a beer or two.

Wouldn't have thought too many would follow him. Those that played with him or under him years ago have now left or retired. He has more chance of dragging some blokes from Myponga where he spent most of him time over the years, No idea what sort of relationship he would have with any of them though,,,

Only a couple left at Pongy from the Sterzl days, Hassan & Wade Hutchy. Loots & Laff, who he played with at Pongy are already at Mclarens.

I was meaning for of the B Grade boys that played with him from the year you made the GF, but then again, its hard to get into the Mclaren B Grade side when they stack it all the time..

You could always ring around see if any of the clubs in gsfl can spare their junior colts or magoos/reserves side for the day, that is if you blokes are after a competitive hit out!

Thats a fair bit insulting mate why would we want to play a reserves side if we are trying to improve the footy club???

Thats great that you are trying to improve your club im all for that and good luck to you but after having watched games in both leagues last season a 30+ goal drubbing is what you would be up for from the bottom GSFL side. The bottom side in the gsfl was capable of beating the top side on its day and its a much much higher standard, the bottom clubs in hills footy clearly struggle (strugle to score at all some weeks) and you would be much better off finding some more suitable opposition is all im getting at

Come on mate it's a bloody trail game they are after! Who even keeps scores in trail games these days, it is a chance for both teams to tweak all their structures, player positions, rotations etc not to go out there and play for sheep stations. Good on Kangy for asking around to challenge themselves. Pretty stiff comparing them to junior colts sides.

That's your problem bud your going on past seasons results !! I'm new to kangy but I'm sure they have played mclaren a few years in trial games .. As coaches we want to have a game that tests our players so we can see where they are at ! There is tongue and cheek and then there is pure disrespect that's al I need to say on the matter !

Some handy pick ups there for sure but makes you wonder how they are all going to get their peice of pie from a club well known to payout big $$ with the salary cap coming in this year...if its all above board they are in a great position and at this stage bays look like being the team to beat again this year

handy pick ups, but strath's are probably better at this early stage. Simmoinds back as well as picking up Ross Christie. Huge!!

Clearances slowly coming thru. Heard of a few players movements that haven't come up on page yet.
Matt duldig from Sturt heading to myponga big forward they badly needed. The mudlarks also nearly signed key defender Shaun Tapp from Glenelg but changed his mind wanting to play with Angus lally at the Creek instead.
Surely more goss to talk about lads season not far away!
Think your down playing the bay's returning players "luvsfooty" hooper brothers & Lindsay all key position players plus turner very handy ins with only rigy Barnes the only notable out. Bays clearly the team to beat again. Strath has got a heap of returning local players & also some that haven't played for a few years. Hopefully adding some depth which has been missing the last few years.

Thoughts on how the new salary cap is affecting recruiting anyone? Or the $4000 is plenty to go around?
Are player expectations reducing....ie they know one at each club can get $1000 so the rest can only get max $500?

CORRECT. To play with his younger brother and take up an Assistant Coaching role- something he has wanted to do for a while now.
