Dear profits of gloom,

40,000, yes that's 40,000 tickets sold to day 1 of the test. This does not include members obviously. I spent the day at AO and the buzz around the place is unbelievable. The set up is sensational, the surface looks a treat and their is genuine feel of excitement around the place. It just feels different akin to the early excitement and anticipation of the AO AFL games.

Expect 50K. By day 2 both of the previous tests will have their attendances smashed. The atmosphere at this day night test is going to be phenomenal. There may be some teething problems but they changed the red ball 14 times in the last test so bitching about the pink ball seems a little bit of a waste of time for mine. It will be far from perfect, there will be unforeseen issues but just like the advent of WSC the people will vote with their feet.

Strap yourself in, fill up your glass with Pimms, bring your tinted perve glasses, fill your wallet with pineapples and enjoy the ride. I certainly will be 8)

The ball would want to do a fair bit otherwise i cant see either sides bowling attacking being good enough to get close to 20 wickets on this deck.
