Stuff this cheap shit here is a higher class establishment

Coal Cellar & Gril - Victoria Square, Ground Floor Hilton Hotel.

Well a lump of fossilised carbon is not what you get served up here....specailising in South Australian produce and cooked like a backyard BBQ with charcoal grills and rotisseries among the cooking methods . As you would expect this is not your Tuesday night CBF meal but somewhere to take the missus to get out of the doghouse or show her that you are actually are a caring considerate bastard!

Staff are not over the top with their service and will give you plenty of time to peruse the menu over a glass of water after ordering your first round of drinks. Our group of 3 didn't bother with entrees and got straight down to business with ordering mains. An order of of Whole Baby Barramundi, and an Angus Pure Grass Fed Tomahawk Steak for 2 were selected. Whilst waiting for the mains to come out the old man and myself (the steak eaters) went on a bit of a World Brewery tour with our drinks with Boags Premium, Heineken, Hoegaarden Wheat and the safe Hahn Super Dry consumed before and during the meal. When the food arrives it is actually true to description, My mother's Barra was actually whole....head, eyes and fins  my immediate comment was to make sure was it scaled [emoji38] . The Tomahawk landed on the table on a chopping block about 800mm long and looked like the chef was hacking up a dinasour out the back the rib bone left on it would have took up 70% of the board. Couldn't find a fault with the steak as I carved off chunks and onto a smaller plate with our sides of creamy mashed potato and garden salad. Contrary to my comment about checking for scales on the Barra the bone structure of the animal just fell out of the flesh and didn't cause any issues.

Mains were cleared and the desert menu arrived, after demolishing a large portion of a cow it was a toss up if even to get desert at all. It was decided that a bowl of Strawberries and Cream designed for 2 would be shared between the 3 of us. Staff were all to happy to oblige with an extra set of cutlery. Just as well as it was a good practice run for December 25 with the amount of food consumed.

All up for 3 people including drinks only $260 damage to the Mastercard. 8/10 for a fine dining experience

Yeah I had the worlds smallest lobster there for $14 a couple of months ago. Fair to say I could have destroyed a half dozen of them.

Burger Foundry - I can't stay mad at you ;)

Lady Wrist pleasantly surprised me with a scoopon deal. $10 for any one of 6 burgers and fries.

She stuck with the Rocky Mountain high whilst I forked out the additional $2 and went with the Aussie Beerenberg. A big ass tasty pattie with bacon, egg, beetroot, caramelised onion, lettuce, tomato, aioli on a type of white damper bun. A fair battle was had between mouth and burger and I was forced to remove the salad portion and make it a more manageable size. The roll was good but probably not strong enough to support the weighty products inside. Mrs inhaled the RMH burger and is obviously easily pleased. One noticeable change is that they now serve on a cutting board like so many other places and the chips are served in an old tin coffee mug.

I had an ice tea and mrs had a milkshake. The scoopon made it about $30 instead of $50. Paying $50 for burger meals is just too much in my book.

8/10 for the experience for all things considered.

Nordburger will definitely be next.

Not really a review as such. Had a large gathering for a wake at the Holdy yesterday, so was strictly a liquid diet for myself, but noticed a few people sharing awesome looking grazing platters. A quick scan of the menu showed some pretty tidy sounding meals. Be interested in the thoughts of anyone familar with their meals.

Feed back from an Adelaide friend currently visiting family in Windsor, outside Sydney.
The local runs $10 nights - one night Parmy, another night steak, another sea food, and so on.
A $10 meal on offer every night of the week, and reportedly good food and not skimpy in size.

Just knocked back a seafood platter from Pink Moon Saloon, giant wood fired king prawns, oysters natural, pickled mullet, salmon, rye and aioli on a bed of greens. Hard to find a fault here, was ******* sensational. I'm not one to rave about a serve of house chips either, but they were top notch.

Washing it all down with Grifter IPAs.

I've seen 10s become 5s on this site. What was the price please. It's all relevant for mine as if your spending >100 you should expect 5 star excellence.

I'm a big seafood fan so to hear seafood rated a 10 in Adelaide little Wristy pops his head up.

Not sure of the price of the individual meal, food and beers and cocktails came to over a couple of hundred. Mine might have been about $35?

Their menu is ever changing, so can't guarantee that they'll be offering the seafood platter next week, but seems to me like they take the food very seriously.

I had a salted caramel milkshake. Mrs had a big hot chocolate and we shared strawberry waffles. Served with ice cream, strawberries, drizzled chocolate and basically a bowl of fondu chocolate. It's a 25% off in the ent book so it went about $26.
Take the Mrs here for a special treat and thank me later 9/10

Just took the Mrs there.
Had a savoury lunch to kick it off
Mrs ordered the chicken nachos whilst I got the quesilada or something similar sounding.

Expected them to be fairly small in servings, but the nachos was a very reasonable serving. We both shared our meals.

Mrs had a latte and was happy.
I ordered the Iced Mint Chocolate with dark chocolate and it tasted as I wanted it too...a Mint slice bikky.

They did make an error in serving us drinks as I got a hot Mint Chocolate initially, but the Iced one came along immediately after.
They let me have the hot bevvy also.

Too full for dessert, so we purchased some items for a little later on.....Turkish delight, rocky road, caramel and cashew brittle and a few other small items.

We were the only 2 in the store.

Service was good as expected.
Ent book provides the 25% which is only for meals/drinks in store and not takeaway.

All came to $70 with Voucher.
Same at Bracegirdlea would be over $100 easily...

Personally I prefer this over BG.

The cake shakes are next on my list......

Having worked at the Cas and seeing one morning some unwrapped food falling off the trolley as they came out of the lift to end up all over the floor, for them to be picked up and put straight back in the box and on the trolley and taken to the kitchen has put me off.
And I know this would happen at other venues, but once you see it, it takes on a new perspective

After seeing the Chocalatree review, the Mrs and I went to San Churros at West Lakes for the first time.

Wish we hadn't gone, coz we're gonna end up there at least once a week.

$25 got us a share plate of 3 churros each, fondue chocolate, 2 brownies, a bowl of sliced strawberry's, a bowl of sliced banana, a bowl of marshmellows, 4 small pretzels, 2 macaroons, and a couple of strawberry yoghurt balls.

I had a latte, and the Mrs had a peach ice tea. Then she had another one. They were good.

It was about $40 all up. Not really into sweets, but this was really good.

Not gonna give a rating, because I have nothing to compare it against.

Was there on sat morning.
Big brekky x2
Iced coffee x2

$53

Love the hash browns and the mushys

There was a period where I think they changed chefs but now the quality is back to where it was before.

Service is always top shelf.
