Yep, meaning that the season is spread out over more rounds but more byes more often !!!

Also, I think there might also be a couple of country games - one at Mannum (SANFL Showdown) and maybe one in Renmark (West v Port)

SANFL Showdown !!
RIP SANFL

think this game might be west v adelaide

Im guess TV want it 2.30pm.

Because South aren't playing any night footy next year, from what I hear, following on from the issues with their lights late last year...

Yeah, true...

Head that West weren't going to have any night games in 2016 but are now just having the one under lights...

Not as much night footy in the fixture next year with the Bays only having a couple and Norwood cutting back a couple, from all reports?

Will know more Saturday, I guess...

The novelty of lights wore quickly. Costly exercise for not much ROI.

The Central District Football Club is pleased to announce a new Naming Rights Partner for Elizabeth Oval. In seasons 2016, 2017 and 2018 the Oval will be known as My Money House Oval.

My Money House has been a Premier Partner of CDFC for the past 4 seasons and have provided fantastic support for our Club.

"To have MMH extend this support up until the end of 2018 is a real boost for our Football Club, and an indication of the terrific relationship we have built with My Money House". Central District Football Club President David Cavenett said.

"We look forward to helping My Money House build their brand at My Money House Oval, Elizabeth, in 2016 and beyond"
My Money House specialises in home loans, investment loans, financial planning and wealth creation through investing in property. My Money House are also launching, in the new year, a very exciting program to help more people “Enter the Market” with their new First Home Owners program initiative.

“Our continuing sponsorship of CDFC reconfirms our support for football in South Australia, as well as building on our strong relationship with the Northern Community” said Andrew Potter, My Money House (Director).
If you are thinking of reviewing your current home loan, investing in property or starting your journey to buying your first home, talk the professional team at My Money House. With as little as $1,000 deposit, the team at MMH can help people break out of the renting cycle and get them into their first home sooner.

To be fair the competition has gone from growth mode to survival mode in the last 2 years therefore the risk of night matches is too high.

Putting up lights was always a risk and nothing to with the last 2 years . A couple of reasons people why . 1 is poor timing of games and who plays who. The other is most are just not good enough . I know heaps of people that no longer attend due to the inadequate light.

The lights are fantastic at Norwood oval.
Easily the best in suburbia.

Normally this would be down to external factors but not this time.

Country games serve a purpose but not a lot. Why play West in a country game against Adelaide ? Leave the SANFL country games AND PROMOTE THE SANFL COMPETITION STRONGLY and leave them for the AFL reserve teams.
On the number byes etc, increase the number of games not byes. Start putting some crowd pulling teams against each other more and adjust that year by year . Not fair I agree but for the look and promotion of the comp it must happen. That does not include Norwood V Port as that is no longer but seems to be promoted.

My worst scenario sounds likely.
At least 4 weeks of the season with no footy..
If true the SANFL needs waking up.
Please protest true footy followers.
The supporters want to see footy, the clubs need the paying public, the players want to play.
4 months of preparing to play and the boys get one month of gardening in winter the so called footy season.
Please wake up SANFL.
Surely it can't be true.
I will not renew my memberships for 2016 in protest if true.
Could be something to do with AFL teams in the competition maybe.
If so crowd numbers will fall IMHO,let us see what eventuates come September 2016.

If true its just another reason SANFL footballers flock to amateur leagues, they are already poorly renumerated, they start training in November, all for what? they play only 18 games in what, 23 weeks?. The season must feel as though it drags on forever. All this for the sake of two teams who dont care if they win or lose

The SANFL has never been more irrelevant nor more disrespectful to its fans and sovereign clubs

Some good comments.
Can't understand why the SANFL don't get it.
Who disagrees,
can't understand why the clubs accept so many byes or no play weekends.
It is just poor business planning to me.
I wonder how many reserves teams have 3 weeks between games in 2016.
Maybe we are wrong though, just a bad dream.

Remember the good old days of 22 or 23 weeks of every team playing every week plus finals?
Sigh. :(

Good comment Wedgie,again.
I do remember, not so long ago.
Including 2 rounds over the Easter long weekend?
Or am I wrong.
I feel the SANFL reckon the players (despite 4 months of pre season)
are a lot softer than players in previous generations.
Despite 50 rotations etc.
10 teams play each other twice, plus a state game if you must have one over 19 weeks done.
Not rocket science.
Why over 22 or 23 weeks to achieve the same, boring, boring.
No wonder supporters are dropping off to amateur/suburban footy.
Maybe just a bad dream though.
