Was the shoulder injury caused when he was batting?
He took a big dive into his crease while he was batting with Elgar.

What's your take on Finn's action? My son and I were bemused with it, just didn't look right.

Some talk that this might be De Villiers and Steyn done from test cricket. Steyn because his body has fallen apart and De Villiers because he plays so much cricket and had a bad back already. On top of SA already looking far, far weaker than 12 months ago this could turn into a big fall from the top of the tree.

The Saffers are chasing 416 for the win. Will be interesting to see how hard they go at the total.

Perfectly setup for an exciting finish, test cricket at its best.

I wonder if the cheating Saffers will complain about the pitch like they do every time they lose away.

They are the only team I support the poms against.

1970
SA V AU

It was the 2nd test between the teams
South Africa led 1-0 , and ultimately won the series 4-0

Ali Bacher the South African skipper had asked the Australian skipper Bill Lawry for an earlier than norMAL toss
South Africa won the toss and elected to bat
Then it happened
Bill Lawry and the boys saw the grounds people mowing the pitch
By mowing the lawn , the green green grass of home was cut off
Bill Lawry was mad as, came out to the pitch area and remonstrated with the grounds people

According to the South African rules though , the pitch can be mowed , prior to the commencement of play , as long as it was done 30 minutes before the start of the match
DEAR OH DEAR OH ME
It would appear that the South Africans had tricked the Australians

SA 9/622 DEC
AU 157
AU 336
The South Africans annihilated Australia

This is speculative
Did the South Africans pre meditate the EARLY toss , with the view to mowing the pitch , if they elected to bat ?
Would the South African ground peoples have mowed the pitch, if Australia won the toss and elected to bat ?

For an impartial view , I will be interested in Jim05s opinion

It would appear that the South Africans are also lacking some leadership. I am not convinced that Amla is the right person to be leading them at the present time.

A nasty, nasty tour. Particularly after the Aussies had come straight from India. The South African's greatest at their greatest.
I don't think the Aussies were tricked. Lawry should have known the rules.

Can you make an argument for Broad being the best/most valuable cricketer in the world right now?

56 wickets at 23 economy rate of under 3 done it in in the middle east, home and on the Veldt

353 runs averaging 20 but a strike rate of almost 70 (6th best of the top 50 batsmen in 2015 after Warner, Taylor McCullum, Khwaja and Ahmed)

but it's his hustle and bustle in your face play that I like. He makes things happen which you can't get a stat on.

Good player and plays the game in the right way too, never giving a sucker an even break.

I'm not gonna say I'm a fan of Broad, but I don't dislike him.
If he was an Aussie, we'd all be lauding him.
Although, his batting has gone downhill.

The Poms are going at 8.71 runs per over this session. South Africa are a rabble.
