Johnson also posted on his facebook page that this was crap. So looks doubtful. Even without that statement it would be doubtful. I mean surely you can have johnson and Shaun Mckernan on the same list [emoji12]

Shaun McKernan. If ever there was a player who needed performance enhancing drugs, it's him.

If a player has the opportunity to play AFL he should be able to do so. As long as the SANFL club is adequately compensated then it shouldn't be an issue. Even the most diehard SANFL supporter shouldn't begrudge a player taking an opportunity to play at the highest level if one presented itself..

Very (very) few supporters begrudge their players moving on to the AFL system, that's a myth perpetuated by AFL-centric people. Embracing it (helping young men realise their goals) can prove very beneficial for SANFL clubs.

Probably expect the same compensation as what SANFL clubs give to country and ammo clubs when their best players try to make it at "league level". Just be happy for the player to get an opportunity to play at a higher level and hope they come back when they are finished.

Summerton, as good a player as he is, would seem an unusual choice for Essendon given their criteria.

Presumably these whispers have come from his team mates?
