I don't think Hazelwood actually achieves much swing and that's one of the reasons why we lost the Ashes.

I reckon it's amusing that the bowling has attracted so much comment while the batsmen appear to have got off Scott free. It's pretty hard to take 20 wickets when you are being rock and rolled for 60. You're in the field more often, you've got bugger all runs to play with and you're bowling a Duke.

Marshall, Holding, Roberts and Garner couldn't have bowled us to victory with shit totals we made in those lost tests.

Going over to NZ anyway at the same time as the ODI's due to NSW playing WA in a shield match over there....

thats probably why he wasn't selected. Give him a 4 day game before the tests.

Possibly quite a good attack for that deck.
Siddle and Bird have the potential to thrive on that deck.
It's almost a New Zealand-like attack.
Plus, we have the better spinner.

Yeah i think Pattinson needed to play, only bowler we have that can bowl high 140's consistently. Might struggle to take 20 wickets IMO (Hopefully wrong)
Really looking forward to watching how our batsman go, we all know how vulnerable we are against the swinging ball. Expecting Vogues to continue on his run feast after hitting another ton in NZ shield game last week

Agreed, Pattinson was the preferred option.
I'm just suggesting the attack's not as bad as it looks.
