Talk on the national game

A decent comparison may be GWS in their first year - plenty of kids, and some older players that would otherwise be retired. GWS had 2 wins that season, and lost 4 by 100 or more.

The difference is GWS's list was stacked full of first round picks, not rookie listed players.

Despite my recent opinion that they will win 2-4 during the season, I may be talking myself into a lower number

What would happen if the players are cleared and their suspensions are dropped say in about july, what would happen theyd be permitted to play? However the player list is already maxed out with top up players

But at port adelaide ryder & monfries could jump straight back in as no top up players? Port could could hav these boys back for finals?

Won't happen, won't be an outcome this year. If the CAS decision is overturned which I think has zero chance of happening they have the power to run another hearing and could come back with the same decision. No guarantees it will even make it that far, appeal could be thrown before it starts

Hmm probably likely

However lets consider the movie "a few good men". The soldiers committed the crime however they simply followed orders of their superior jack nicolsen who ordered "the code red" eventually justice prevailed and the general was charged with the crime. The soldiers only did what they were told to do

You'd think the first step in any potential appeal would be to demonstrate to the court grounds for a hearing. This is where they're most likely to fail I'd say. A final determination would be a long, long away. But you never know I guess, which is why some are actually considering this.

So what your saying is that unless Tom Cruise is avaiable as their lawyer then the "I want the truth" part wont have the likely effect? And hance they'll lose? [emoji12]

News out of Melbourne that papers have been lodged with the Swiss court but no injunctions in place. As they do not want to risk this dragging on into 2017.

The appeal is about clearning names.

Apparently the time frame is 4 - 6 months.

Obviously Hird isn't involved because this has an element of common sense about it.

So Essendon are appealing on a legal technicality and not on what actually occurred at the club in 2011/12. In doing so they have to appear in a Swiss court, have the documents translated to French, to discuss Australian law.

That's because you can't appeal the CAS findings.
The only way is to argue on a technicality

That's why they sent James to France for a year! That's planning, really good planning.

It's called a heritage guernsey because the names of every EFC Premiership player is imprinted on it. The newest Essendon HOF inductee Tim Watson has his name and signature on the sash and the inside of the collar features a list of his achievements

Yeah I don't mind it.
Not much we can do as its in our constitution that we must always have a red sash and every time it comes up at a AGM the overwhelming majority want it kept that way. We are therefore limited to just changing the background colour. It's only worn 3-4 times a year so no biggie

the previous guernsey with white instead of grey would have been good imo.

I think it looks fine. Clash strips are never going to look great. I understand your constitution does not allow you to have a different coloured sash but you should of done what West Adelaide did and reverse the colours. It doesn't look too bad.
