Think that you will find he is still at the bay's. He has just had twins which are about 3 weeks old so obviously committing to SANFL trainings could get a little much with new borns but from what I have heard the club have been pretty supportive which has helped him a lot.

Shit twins. Good luck buddy!

Seems a strange choice though unless was a fringe player at best.

But if not then why go to a side where you are a top up only and would get forced out of the side by an AFL listed player?

I would think the opportunities we can offer off field in one of our indigenous programs would have been very attractive.

Many of the Magpie listed and Academy contracted indigenous players run programs in the community that are held in high regard by many people.

I am not knocking the Academy intention but Port coerced him and his parents with false promises. He cannot get to the AFL unless drafted so it really doesn't matter wnere he plays if he is going to be good enough to make an AFL list.

He would have had more chance of playing League Seniors at North this season because if the Power don't have injuries he will spend most of the year if not all in the Reserves. Having said that form, fitness etc. might have had him playing ressies at North also - his work ethic is one area of concern. End of day he made choice but the way Port got him was lazy and and clearly not morally right.

This could be the benchmark if the Crows get an Academy side also either in the SANFL or via an AFL Academy Leagje which is being closely looked at. In SA the SANFL clubs take kids from 12yrs of age and they go through the current age squads and then lazy AFL clubs promise them all sorts and come and pinch them after the SANFL clubs invest time and money into development. This may end with SANFL clubs not bothering in future re youth development because when they are ready to step up to Senior level they could be already pinched by AFL clubs.

Ultimately (and sadly) the AFL will win and then the SAN -ful will turn into AFLSA and our league will be a feeder breeding ground for AFL with the League comp being an U18's with a few older age top up players.

And this is different to clubs pinching other clubs' players how?

Big difference if a legitimate SANFL side poaches a player as opposed to a AFL side doing it. I still maintain Port or the Crows shouldn't be allowed to take anyone that is on or has been on another clubs books for the last 2 years

Of course you Power people always manage to try and deflect and put your spin on it to always look like the good guys that includes dressing your Reserves side up in B&W and callling them the Magpies. Give the majority on here some credit - we are able to see through the smoke, mirrors and bullshit coming from Alberton as it has happened for years.

Sounds like the SANFL has again changed the rules on top ups. Until now Port had to have 15 players contracted by the start of the season, but now only need 10 and the other 5 can be upgraded from the Academy prior to 30 June.

The other 9 are Steven Summerton, Tom Gray, Sid Masters, Louis Sharrad, Luke Reynolds, Jonathon Ross, Anthony Biemans, Robbie Young and Tom Corcoran - all had 2015 contracts.

Do North get paid a clearance fee?

Not sure why you're looking through our smoke and mirrors, should be more concerned with getting 2 wins a year on the board and working upwards from there. :D

Tounge in cheek here ports home ground is in Woodville west Torrens area/zone do they need to pay rent to the Eagles lmao

Ok any reason why Port Powers reserves side can not play SANFL games as the Crows do at suburban grounds of the SANFL teams.
I know I'm brain injured but there is no port zone area. Surely they could adept as the crows have .

Good comment
The Port people, what is left if them, hardly turn up at Alberton any more.
Another SANFL puzzle,
why do they program any games there at all?
A good reason to assist troubled clubs with another home game with extra income.
Another strange SANFL planning decision indeed.

This is true since the death of the magpies alot of their supporters left with that. Henec hardly any crowds. Might as well send the game elsewhere and hope for some additional revenue for struggling clubs.

I remember Peter Nelson running into a open goal at the Ponderosa a few years back and shanking the ball, gave us great mirth on the northern hill. He was a big unit, can understand he might be pushing shit up hill to get a gig in Westies league team with Webb and Willits in front of him but thought he might've been handy addition for another club as a second ruck/ forward.

Former basketball baller who probably hasn't gone on as expected. I would still have him there and the club I'm sure would like him there but he wants to concentrate on studies and work. Would earn more playing away from the SANFL

I'm not sure about this and would like to be set straight by others, but do SANFL home games turn a profit for the clubs once every single expense is taken into consideration?
Power SANFL games at Alberton are possibly as profitable as any in the comp.???
Without the moron masses following their AFL SANFL sides as Chapman lied about, it's been zero crowd uplift and zero $ uplift!
And how much does the Power pay to play in the SANFL??????? FFS our Commission must be drunk at the wheel :partyman:
